I bought this Bible over 9 years ago, and since then I have bought many premium Cambridge, Allen, and Schuyler Bibles, but this Pitt Minion has been the one I come back to the most. It’s a perfect size to carry anywhere, and the print is fine if you have good eyes, or like me, good reading glasses. The goatskin is awesome, the paper beautiful, and the Lexicon font is second to none. With the references, maps and map index, this can easily be your all around every day Bible. If I could only have one Bible, this would be it.

I wanted the updated text in the smaller format of the Pitt Minion. This is really nice and portable, which is important to me as heavy bibles are no longer and option for me. The goatskin is wonderful as with all Cambridge Bibles. It comes with two ribbon markers, 2016 text block, black letter text, glossy maps instead on plain paper, references, presentation page, art guilding (red under gold) and concordance. As stated by others there are a few pages that are light in inking but not enough to be a big deal at all. The quality all the way around in great and typical of high end Cambridge Bibles. If you are looking for a small portable reference Bible this is a great choice. The print is small but not so small that an older gentleman like myself who has to use reader glasses anyway can’t deal with. I love this little gem!

5 stars all the way for the Pitt minion , no flaws Beautiful inside and out just like my other Cambridge Bibles. I see why these are so popular , they are the perfect size for when we are on the move, I really want a couple more of these!!!
Small print is good enough for younger eyes and old ones too (just keep your reading glasses handy

Really good bible, finally updated to the ESV 2016 translation. High quality, compact, and a great price. I was surprised to see the goatskin version has full art gilt edges. My only complaint is that the print is not 100% consistent. I’m very fussy about this and it might not bother some, but some of the pages are ever so slightly faded. The printing on most of the pages is dark and clear and high quality so the contrast is all the more striking. I’ve noticed similar on other Cambridge bibles and also Schuyler and the common factor seems to be Royal Jongbloed. Although to be fair my RL Allen, also printed by Royal Jongbloed, did not have this issue. It’s annoying because I’ve seen both budget and premium bibles printed in China that have beautiful clean and consistent printing. The most important aspect of the Bible is supposed to be the words on the page so if that is not 100% done correctly then the other nice touches lose their meaning. That said, the Pitt is priced so reasonably and is otherwise so well put together that I can forgive the odd slightly faded page in this case. There’s no such thing as a perfect bible but this one certainly comes close.

I recently received a brown goatskin copy in ESV and it is excellent! I wholeheartedly recommend this bible! There are a couple differences I noticed when compared to a black goatskin version from a couple years ago. In the newer brown Pitt Minion the copyright page says “ESV Text Edition: 2011, 2016” and the maps and map index are printed on what seems to be a slightly glossier paper so some of the colors do have some glare in certain lighting conditions. It does have the usual two brown marker ribbons.

Wow! Small but wonderful! Very cute little bible that is thoughtfully built.

    What a great bible!
This came packaged great as usual from Evangelical Bible and the bible itself is a 2011 ESV text which I was looking for. The goatskin is firmer then you might be use to with say a Schuyler or Allan but it doesn’t detract from the bible itself. It’s obvious that it will loosen up with use. The font is 6.75 Lexicon which might sound small but it actually seems larger and is easily readable. 48 year old eyes have no problems so far.
Very satisfied with this purchase. Takes the Pigma Micron 005 without bleed thru so far with underlining that I’ve done.

In the end, if you want a well made Bible, that is super-portable, yet reasonably legible, you will end up buying a Cambridge Pitt Minion. Any smaller and you would not feel comfortable reading whole sections of scripture. Any larger and you would have to dedicate a portion of your bag for it. This Bible adds virtually no weight and is a pleasure to use. It’ll never be your read through the Bible translation (though I actually did it once and it broke in so nicely), but it is too handy not to own.

  9. Chris (verified owner)

Was not too pleased with the line spacing of the words in this bible. I feel that they are too bunched together. My eyes can read it but i just don’t find it as comfortable as the Clarion.

  10. Walker Suits

I think this is a great Bible. I just wish it had two or more ribbon markers like the other Pitt Minions.

This is the 3rd Pitt Minion that I have purchased this year. It is however the first Goatskin Bible I have ever owned. Right out of the box and into your hands you can tell that this is a quality bible! The leather is soft with a nice thickness to it. While it does not lay flat at Genesis or Revelation yet, you can tell that with a little use it will do that for you eventually. The font is not overly dark or light (just right). This is perhaps the best bible I have ever owned. It can be used for study, preaching, and teaching. Evangelical Bible did a great job of packaging the Bible as well.

  12. Dewey Squyres (verified owner)

I was surprised by this Bible’s readability despite seeing fairly glowing reports. I favor a font in the 9.5-11 point range, so was skeptical about how practical this Bible would be despite its fine workmanship and beautiful binding. I have had numerous eye surgeries, so readability is really a factor. What I found is that I can read this Bible without undue eyestrain. I have already found it a great size for travel and to take to church when I do not need a larger Bible or another translation. The goatskin is much nicer than the French Morocco in the NLT Pitt Minion, which I bought for a test drive on the font. If you are looking for a smaller Bible for whatever reason, this is worth your serious consideration.

  13. Brian Baker

Great quality Bible. The craftsmanship is what you would expect from Cambridge and the leather, while a little stiff at first, loosens nicely with age and use. The only complaint I have with this is the small font size. It is a little hard to read from your lap while in a church service. The thing to keep in mind when considering this Bible is that it is intended as a travel/compact Bible. I usually keep mine in my briefcase and have it on hand while at work.
Still a great Bible and well worth the purchase.

I love this little bible! It is easy to read and I am well pleased with the quality, I recommend this bible to all.

  15. Cicero Murdock (verified owner)

Perfect portable thinline size and rich brown color with a very durable cover! The inside pages are cleanly and clearly laid out; a very nicely made Bible. Of the many I’ve owned, this Bible is sure to last for years to come.
