Anglicized Text (a few British words have different spelling-color-colour)
It has a very supple Highland goatskin outer leather binding. This is a natural grain skin and Allan uses the best skins for this because there is no embossing applied to form a grain. It is hand-worked. It has a leather lining inside and this makes for added flexibility and long life.
Allan Publishers are regarded by many to be the most excellent Bible publishers on the planet.

"So I got my RL Allan Choc Brown ESV1BR today.
Flipped through and no mistakes anywhere.
Can't believe how soft the cover is! I can open to the first verse of Genesis or last verse in Revelations and it stays flat open.
Read some other blogs and comments regarding the paper. I have to say that the point is taken that you can see text on the opposite side any page. However, I do not find any difficulty with the text as the ink seems to be very high quality, and the page color is a bright white as opposed to the translucent effect most bibles have.
If the paper isn't perfect, it is still a far step ahead of anything I have used. Also, I did my pen tests and while I will most likely make notes with my Fisher Space Pen which is a different type of ballpoint ink, to my surprise my fountain pen (filled with Visconti blue ink) did NOT bleed through.
The ribbons are great - I disagree with any criticism on the length or the color - they're perfect..
If I have any criticism and I do have to reach here - I have seen better maps. The R L Allans are different and have some good information. Pressed though, I would admit that most of the info on other maps isn't really missed most of the time. It certainly doesn't give me any buyers' remorse..
In all, I have to agree with others here that this is really the finest bible I have ever received."
