Evangelicalbible.com Statement of Faith

We Believe:

i

in The Bible (The 66 books of the Old and New Testament) The Bible is the only inspired, infallible and inerrant Word of God. It is therefore the final authority and standard for determining all doctrinal truths.

 ii

in the Trinity: There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and co-eternal.

iii

in Jesus Christ , God's only begotten Son, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, teachings, His atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into Heaven and the promise of His return to earth.

 iv

in the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and His present ministry of rebirth and renewal as well as the working of all the biblical spiritual gifts.

v

that all men are sinners by nature and choice and are therefore under condemnation; that God regenerates by the Holy Spirit those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord. The only remedy for mankind's sin is the sacrificial death of the Messiah Jesus.

vi

in the Second Coming: According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth; the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men in righteousness.

vii

in Judgment: Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in the gospel of Jesus Christ. After living one life on earth, unbelievers will be judged by God and sent to hell where they will be eternally tormented with the devil and the fallen angels.

History of the English Bible.

Nicene Creed:

We believe in one God,
      the Father almighty,
      maker of heaven and earth,
      of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
      the only Son of God,
      begotten from the Father before all ages,
           God from God,
           Light from Light,
           true God from true God,
      begotten, not made;
      of the same essence as the Father.
      Through him all things were made.
      For us and for our salvation
           he came down from heaven;
           he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
           and was made human.
           He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
           he suffered and was buried.
           The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
           He ascended to heaven
           and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
           He will come again with glory
           to judge the living and the dead.
           His kingdom will never end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
      the Lord, the giver of life.
      He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
      and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
      He spoke through the prophets.
      We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
      We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
      We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
      and to life in the world to come. Amen.
