Now leather-lined in natural grain Meriva calfskin.

The KJV Brevier Clarendon Bible is a vintage Authorized/King James Version reference edition, developed by Oxford University Press and now published exclusively by R. L. Allan. This Wide Margin edition is particularly prized – its substantial margins and writeable paper, with the highest levels of opacity, combined with the bold, clear type of the Brevier Clarendon typesetting, make it the ideal Bible for intensive study and notetaking.

The 5WM is printed on PrimaBible 45gsm paper with superb writeability characteristics so as to maximize the benefit of the 1.5 inch outer/inner margins (1 inch at top and bottom).

Our 5WM NB edition is bound in Navy blue natural grain goatskin with generous yapp, now leather-lined in dark blue natural grain Meriva calfskin with gilt line inside, hand-pleated corners and double-sprayed red under gold page edges, three navy blue ribbon markers, with Allan presentation pages and family record, 26 pages of blank notepaper at the back of the Bible book block for additional note taking, 16 pages of full-colour Oxford Bible maps and 16 pages of Allan feint rule notepaper.

Printed on best quality, writeable, highly opaque 45gsm India Paper * Large, crisp black letter type * Centre column references * 1½ inch outer and inner margins, 1 inch at top and bottom of the page * Three navy blue ribbon markers * Red under gold page edges * 16 pages of full-colour Oxford Bible maps * 16 pages Allan feint rule notepaper * Exclusively available in Allan’s fine leather bindings.

This is a wonderful new edition of a classic Bible! The main differences between this new release of the Brevier Clarendon Wide Margin and the last one are:
    1. Thicker paper. I see that this current version has 45 GSM paper.
    2. Better access to the inner margin, due to the binding.
    3. Much more flexible binding, and overall limpness.
    4. No lined paper in the back.
    5. Partial yapp, unlike the first one which had none to speak of.
    6. Significantly darker red under gold page edges.
Overall, I love the new, blue, Allan Brevier Clarendon Wide Margin Bible, and I highly recommend it.

This was given to me as a gift when I left my last pastorate by the staff pastors. Needless to say it is a beautiful bible. It is so nice I was hesitant to use it but alas, the temptation was far to great. I love the KJV and Allen binds it, the way the Word of God should be bound in leather. Great for study, plenty of space for notes…great gift.

Anything Allan produces regarding the Scriptures is a masterpiece! I have several Allan Bibles. You should as well. -Pastor Brett

Great bible. Allan knows how to make them. One con- I was told that all Allans have matched page numbers. That is not true. My Clarendon does so if I open Mark 1:1 in this and my Clarendon it will be identical but not true of the Longprimer, pages don’t match up with this one. I believe it does though in the Ruby. But anyways not that big of a deal. The Word of God is what matters and this allows me to write my thoughts and references without problems in the margin and the 45 gsm paper is amazing. Great bible and again for this great reference to the Lords word.

Wow! What else can I say?! This Bible has the thickest paper of any Bible made, and the blue goatskin is top quality! No bleed thru on pages, and plenty of room for notes.

Quite possibly the best Wide-Margin Bible available. I have always loved RL Allan. I have an Allan Longprimer in Navy Blue Meriva Calfskin, a brevier clarendon hand sized and have had the older Highland Goatskin version of this bible before they changed the yapp features and improved the GSM (grams per square meter) on the paper. I ended up parting with the older Wide-Margin version and gave it to a pastor. After a year or so I began to really miss my previous Allan Wide-Margin and decided to buy another one. This one however, is quite an improvement over the original. The one before had no yapp whatsoever to speak of and the paper, though of fine quality, was not as good as this newer version. I also wanted a different color than black, and as I’ve really come to love the navy blue Longprimer, I opted to get a blue Wide-Margin instead of the traditional black.
I am no stranger to quality by the way. I have a Cambridge Wide-Margin black Goatskin bible, so I know a good bible and hide when I see one. The only feature I’ve never liked about the Allan Wide-Margin is the Dedicatory for Family, Marriages, and so forth. Those features belong in a family bible, not in a Wide-Margin bible designed for intense study of God’s Word. This family and marriage section also adds unnecessary extra thickness. I personally like a thinner bible. I also wish that Allan simple went with a complete yapp instead of just the partial yapp. I have no idea why they cant just give us a Wide-Margin with a full yapp. I personally like the Cambridge text and font more than the brevier clarendon font. I’ve also never been a fan of the headings at the beginning of a chapter. I think it sort of distracts from the text. Nor do I care for the letters next to words. But these are all minor details when considering the entirety of the package. And since these are just my opinions, I see no reason not to give this bible a 5-Star rating.

A Message to RL ALLAN: If anyone from RL Allan reads this, I humbly ask that you give us a Wide-Margin Edition with a FULL YAPP. The yapp is what distinguishes you from other binders and publishers. Also, just a suggestion. Have you ever thought about making a bible with raised spine-hubs. I think a Wide-Margin bible with a Full yapp and raised spine hubs would be absolutely exquisite! I know raised spine hubs is not your thing, but I hope you consider giving one a try. May God Bless you abundantly!

Quite possibly the best Wide-Margin Bible ever produced. If you are an ardent student of God’s word, I highly recommend this Brevier Wide-Margin from Allan. The navy blue edition is absolutely exquisite! The generous yapp is something that I’ve always wanted in a Wide-Margin Bible, and Allan delivers! The price is a little steep, but if you want a Bible that will last a life-time if properly taken care of, this is your best option. Though I am not a KJV Only-ist, I love the old English and will always use the Authorized Version before all others! The font is extremely bold and the high quality GSM paper is the finest ever put out by Allan. The only complaint/opinion I have is that I’ve never been a fan of the oxford text. I like the layout of the Cambridge a bit more. Also, I do not like the chapter headings, as I believe it can distract from the text. I wish as well that Allan would have simply given this edition a full yapp, as this feature distinguishes them from everyone else. I wouldn’t mind seeing a Wide-Margin with raised spine hubs as well. Buy hey, I can dream can’t I? But since these are only my opinions and personal preference, I see no reason to detract from a 5-Star Rating!

    Well done Allan!

P.S. I hope you consider giving us a Wide-Margin with a full yapp and raised spine hubs. Please take this into consideration. With Blessings

    Mark DiAngelo

I am so grateful to have back in my hands again the Allan KJV Brevier Clarendon Wide Margin Navy Blue Goatskin Edition. To me, subjective of course, the absolutely all time finest Bible ever produced! The paper itself is “Worth the price of admission!” Thank you Allan Bibles for continuing the Oxford standard, please don’t stop.
5 stars all across the board!
    Thanks to all involved, Blessings
