I am impressed by this Bible. The paper is exquisite, and the leather is supple. My only gripe is the lack of perimeter stitching; however, this is minor because I believe the glue will hold up over the years—this is the only reason I subtracted a star. The text typeface is clean and very comfortable for reading. Allan does not disappoint with this Bible; from the blue art gilding to the complimenting silver/grey ribbons to the beautiful Meriva black calfskin leather, it is a pure pleasure to hold in the hand and read for long hours. If you are looking for a larger-sized Bible of exceptional quality, look no further. This is it.

A beautifully-bound bible with excellent printing quality. The Minerva Calfskin is luxurious and supple. I love the blue under silver gilding against the black cover, a nice contrast to my other bibles with red under gold. I bought this bible since it uses 36gsm pages, just like my Cambridge calfskin NSRV. I have other bibles that are 28gsm and the pages are a bit thin for me to turn the pages easily.

I have to say that this is a feast for the eyes. This is the first bible I’ve gotten bound in Meriva Calfskin, and for me it is nicer than a goatskin cover. The printing is beautiful, very easy to read. I bought it specifically to be my reading only bible. My one complaint is that it arrived damaged; the bubble wrap is undamaged but the box is bent and partially caved in along the top and bottom. It literally looks like a shipping strap was pulled too tightly. Sadly, the pages are also crinkled in these spots. It is very noticeable, but I’ll have to think about what to do. I know the stock is going down. If it wasn’t for the damage, this would be the premier spot in my ESV collection.
