Beware!!!! Though the Bible has a nice piece of leather it is impossible to handle without damaging the leather. I purchased the bible inspected it (failed to wear gloves) and did not like the print because words are crammed together and the cross-referencing lettering is very difficult to read. I use cross-refrencing a lot and even had trouble reading the center column. The overall appearance of the bible is disapointing compared to the refinement of a Schuyler. Look closely at the corners of the cover and you will notice the Allen looks glued whereas the Schuyler has stitching. Upon return I was told by evangelicalbible that the bible was now used because of scratches. I am amazed how it was hardly handled and then told it was not as I received it. I am curious how well it was inspected prior to sending me the bible. I suspect the bible came from Allen the way it was received back to evangelicalbible. Make sure you take plenty of pictures when you remove an Allen from the box. If you want a bible you can accidentally drop while hiking and have it look perfect go with Schuyler. Allen is a bible that merely taking out of the box will cause damage as I discovered. I would recommend only handling the bible with gloves. Returning the bible will cost $44.00. I am convinced you will not be able to remove it from the box without the bible becoming used. Evangelicalbible customer service was willing to let me eat the $44. giving me a store credit to purchase one of my next Schuylers. If you are unsure between Allen and Schuyler I recommend going with Schuyler you will not be disappointed.

I purchased the Plum colored edition of the Allen ESV New Classic Readers addition. I don’t usually leave reviews but couldn’t resist. This is the most amazing Bible I have ever owned. I’ll carry this the rest of my life. The quality is over the top. Here’s what I love: Leather and Binding is amazing. It has full family and presentation pages. Each book has an introduction. The print is clear and dark with no bleed through. The concordance is huge and thorough for a reference bible. It has all the art work of the temple, it’s accoutrements, maps of Jerusalem etc. pulled from the ESV Study Bible into convenient pages in the back after the concordance (which blew me away causing me to do a fist pump and shout for joy) and maps all in full color without ghosting and fuzz that you may get from poor printing. Then it’s followed by blank lined pages for notes. I am flabbergasted at the shear beauty of the whole thing. This is worthy to hold the King’s words! Well worth the price for me. As a premium Bible collector this is the first time I have been this excited about a Bible of this quality…EVER! Signed one very satisfied and happy customer.

Such an amazing bible. The smooth butter soft texture is amazing. The colors are brilliant. The text layout and design is great as always. This Allan version is a contender for one of the best they have offered. The yap is a good size and overlaps well.
