Description
New Petrol Blue Meriva natural grain calfskin edition in Silver Line specification, leather-lined in matching Meriva natural grain calfskin.
First printed in 1952, the King James Version Longprimer Bible is a traditional double-column reference setting of the Authorized Version. Developed by Oxford University Press and now published exclusively by R. L. Allan, it has for many years been our flagship Bible, renowned the world over for its clarity of type and our beautiful bindings.
The Longprimer Sovereign edition retains the same clear, bold type as the standard Longprimer but is printed on a 40gsm writable Bible paper with the highest levels of opacity, and increased margins (one inch on outside edges) to show the text block off to greatest effect and further enhance the reading experience.
Bound in distinctive Petrol Blue Meriva calfskin, with a generous semi-yapp and blue under silver page edges, leather-lined in matching petrol blue Meriva with gilt line inside and three wide ribbon markers, with presentation pages and family record, dictionary of proper names, subject index, concordance, 32 pages lined writing paper and 16 pages of Oxford Bible maps.

It is a glorious thing to have God’s unrelenting truth laid out before you in a book more important than any other thing that you can physically possess.
Praise him for everything he’s given me!
A $275 bible isn’t for everyone. Nor do I advise, recommend, or highly encourage you to get one. In a market of well printed bibles you ought to find one much more cheaper for sure.
This Allan 62 was purchased because I love the King James translation and it had large 10/11 point font. The dark printing of the text is superb. Since I write in bibles this edition was practical for marking because of the thicker paper. The lined writing paper is one of the best features. Also, having one inch margins all around is immeasurable for extra note taking.
Personally if Allan would have done away with the helps in the back with exception to the maps and the lined note pages it would have given the 62 a slimmer profile and made it less unwieldy for some folks. It would also reduce the price of the Bible greatly and make it more affordable for those seeking higher grade bibles but do not want to pay the extravagant price point.
The meriva leather is smooth and floppy. The petrol blue is a wonderful color for those who get tired of all black or brown bibles.
The take away. This is a stellar Longprimer Sovereign. You get exactly what you payed. Probably even more so. The price is steep, but know that there are many more options out there. Just know what you want.
Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

I was hoping to see the day that Petrol Blue would be used on either a KJV or ESV.
Wow I can’t believe how soft this calfskin leather is, and how gorgeous it looks with the silver page edges. If you like The KJV, grab one of these before they’re gone, and the thieves strike on eBay!
