The KJV Brevier Clarendon Bible is a vintage Authorized/King James Version reference edition, developed by Oxford University Press and now published exclusively by R. L. Allan. This Wide Margin edition is particularly prized – its substantial margins and writeable paper, with the highest levels of opacity, combined with the bold, clear type of the Brevier Clarendon typesetting, make it the ideal Bible for intensive study and notetaking.

I usually don’t do reviews- no time. But I just had to this time. What a blessing to have the Bible! First, the purple is obviously purple, but so rich and deep. It doesn’t look black in any lighting for me. The three shiny ribbons are a lighter purple than the goatskin cover, so they brighten things up. I also thought, if I invest in this bible, it had to be the classic gold edging. But the silver line is a refreshing change-up from gold. You won’t regret it! And then the blue under silver is amazing and visually enjoyable. Like others have said, the print is so well done and dark that the size 9 font is not an issue. It’s a pleasant read!
I’m investing now in a couple premium bibles that last a very long time, so that I can build memories in them throughout the years, Lord willing. I can’t wait to start writing my study notes in this bible. This is a great investment for everyday use that will last, so I highly recommend!

Never owned a purple Bible in my life. Figured it’s a good time as any. Since the world is in turmoil and this nation has gone completely astray from God I figure having a purple Bible would put a positive in an otherwise bleak situation.
This purple is dark but still light enough in hue to look like purple in certain lighting especially well lit artificial lighting. It’s a tad darker than the Schuyler personal size Canterbury purple. With three “blackberry” ribbons to help balance the goatskin cover this purple edition will surprise you in person as to it’s cool factor. Black is distinguished but way over done. Navy blue seems to even be a bit cliched especially if not paired with the right complimentary ribbons. And brown like navy blue is simply boring without the right ribbon color. Red however, is a hit or miss. Purple is a refreshing color option.
As for the stuff inside this handsome wide margin. It is stunning in construction. Elegant in design. Exceptional in typographical presence. And stellar in your hands.
Besides, it’s purple!
