This is an entirely new setting of the Bible, published to coincide with the 400th anniversary of the King James Version but intended to become a staple of the Cambridge list for many years to come as a new and distinctive format, across a range of versions. This particular edition is the first new Cambridge KJV reference Bible for over half a century and has been carefully designed for the modern era to meet an increasing demand for a more accessible format and comfortable reading size.
It is typeset in Lexicon No.1, a digital font designed for easy reading and with many similar characteristics to traditional hot-metal Bible typefaces, thus marrying the best of the old and the new. The print is black-letter throughout and the text is presented in paragraph (rather than traditional chapter and verse) style and in a single-column format. The notes and cross-references have been relocated to the outer margin, leaving the text relatively free and unencumbered.
These Bibles include maps and–instead of a conventional concordance and dictionary–a Reader’s Companion which offers the key elements of those features in one place.

First, thanks to Evangelicalbible for prompt shipping.
A nice clear text and good line matching. Text width on the page 3 1/2” x 6” high, outside margin 1 1/16” for references, 5/16” across the gutter between text. Paper is very thin. Good line spacing.
A nice addition to my Bible library. Where this paragraph format really shines is that a significant part of the Hebrew scriptures was composed in poetry. Most of Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, and Lamentations, some extended parts of the prophetic books, and passages such as Ex.15:1-18 and Judges 5 are easily recognizable as poems. The elevated language of Hebrew poetry is typically written in pairs of phrases or lines of parallel construction; it sometimes employs devices such as the acrostic responsory forms, and refrains.

This is one of the nicest, most readable KJV Bibles on the market. I wont dance around things: this is one of the finest text blocks known to man. Ever since I first beheld the Clarion, I have hailed it as one of the best all-around Bibles available. There is no other single column reference Bible that can match it. I have just got this bible and the way it feels in my hands is amazing. The size is just perfect for laying in bed reading. The font size is very easy to read. The paper is light but good quality. I’m very surprised at how easy it is to read the KJV in a single column paragraph format. It makes the scripture easier to understand in my opinion. The brown calfskin is beautiful and soft. It opens up flat from Genesis to Revelation. If you want a quality KJV that’s easy to read and yet small then this is a perfect edition of God’s word for you!

The Clarion is a tad larger than the Pitt, but the font is what makes this bible one of the best hand-sized Cambridge has to offer. The Clarion is your bible of choice if your looking for one that you want to sit back with on the couch and actually read. The single column layout, and the elegant modern font, are very easy on the eyes. Great reading bible.

I would have to say that the Clarion KJV is probably the BEST of all the Bibles I own. Top quality leather binding made to last. The font is easy on the eyes. No bleed through. The block is well constructed with even edges marked by art gilt edging. It can be easily held in one hand while the pages open flat. The Reader’s Companion is an additional perk which makes this KJV edition the BEST of all the KJV editions in publication today.

Excellent quality Bible which is the standard for Cambridge. Good clear print but pages are a little too thin allowing print on page backsides to show through prominently.
