James (verified owner) –
I received this Bible this week. The cover is very nice and supple. The paper is great. The red under gold art gilding is a very bright pinkish color. I wish it was a more subtle color like on my Cambridge Bible. It also bled some on the first few pages of the Bible leaving a few streaks along the edge. The ribbons are described as burgundy and in one of the pictures they look bright red. In person the ribbons appear to be a deep purple with no red in them which I don’t care for. They look like the ribbons in the picture of the Royal Purple version. The inner lining is also a deep purple. The overall quality is good. I love the British Tan but don’t love the purple and pink complementing colors. It’s not quite as well made as my ESV from Cambridge or Schuyler, but Crossway is the only one I could find making a premium Bible in these dimensions. The cover and paper are 5 stars. The bleeding from the art gilding and the color of the ribbon not matching the “Burgundy” description or the images on the website is more of a 3 star.
