Matthew –
Overall, this is a great Bible. Its size lends itself to being easily carried while still being quite readable, though ghosting can be an issue at times since this edition is not line-matched. The look and feel of the blue leathers with silver accents are exceptional.
That said, it does have a rather stiff hinge I’m hoping will break in over time with regular use. Additionally, several pages toward the front and back of the text block on my copy have noticeable imperfections in the art gilt, where the blue under silver bleeds a bit onto the paper. Perhaps I can shrug these off as “character marks” that help make it uniquely mine.
All told, I am glad I got one. I’m even considering getting a Schuyler Stridon in Prussian Blue calfskin for an at-home verse-by-verse single-column to complement this “everyday carry” Bible. I expect the quality and craftsmanship might be even better.

This edition had nearly everything I was looking for: ESV translation, perfect size/thickness/weight for carrying to church, nice color, silver gilt edges (not a fan of gold), and a lovely feel. The goatskin has a nice texture and leads me to believe that it will last a lifetime. As a graphic designer, I am very critical of typefaces and page layout. This one is just “okay.” It’s good, but very traditional—much like a typical pew Bible. It could be crisper and more modern like Crossway’s own ESV Study Bible or ESV Student Bible. 4.5 stars round up to 5. Beautiful presentation.
