    Michael Hupfer

This is a well made Bible for the price. The binding is sewn and will lay flat at the beginning and end. The creamy paper is decently opaque. You can see some ghosting, but it’s not a problem at all (and I’m picky about that). The font is a bit small, but it’s still readable. The paper, cover, and elastic strap make the Bible look exactly like a Moleskine journal. It’s the same height, but wider and thicker. This a Bible you can put in a backpack or briefcase and not worry about.
The single column format is done well. The columns are not too wide. There are no cross references, book introductions, and no concordance. It’s just the text (well, there are section headers).
The one thing I don’t like is, ironically, the main feature of the Bible; namely, the “journalling” apparatus. What exactly am I supposed to “journal” in those small lines in the margins? I suppose a few notes will fit, but a few brief notes are not exactly a “journal.” I would rather see those line erased and the book narrowed by about an inch. But I’m excited enough about the rest of this Bible that I can live with the lines.
Verdict: if you’re looking for a durable, portable, single column ESV with a lay flat binding, look no further. The low price is a bonus.
