This is an “almost there” Bible, for me. I know many love it and perhaps I am just bougie with Bibles. The paper is average, the print is large and legible, but not too large. The grain on the goatskin is pebbled and interesting, the painted page edges are unique. The big negative for me though: made in China. China is a country guilty of major human rights violations, especially against Christians. I can’t in good conscience, use a Bible produced by a violently anti-Christian regime, and regret buying it for this reason. I went with a Cambridge NRSV, produced in Italy.

I am woefully late to the party, but I just got Zondervan’s Premier Collection NRSV Personal-Size Large-Print Bible with Apocrypha. At the current price of $105, tax-free and shipping-free at evangelicalbible.com, this Bible is an extraordinary value and one of the most beautiful Bibles I’ve ever seen. The purple edge-lined goatskin, with perimeter stitching and other premium features rival virtually any of the most expensive Bibles on the market. There are no references or maps, but the large, bold black, exclusive Zondervan NRSV Comfort Print® typeface make this a pleasure to read for both personal devotional and public liturgical use. The authoritative NRSV translation is both elegant and a hallmark of clarity and accuracy. In addition to the highly respected NRSV translation, the inclusion of the deuterocanonical books make this volume a truly ecumenical sacred scripture. And if anybody is wondering, I have not been paid by anybody involved with Zondervan, the NRSV, evangelicalbible.com or anyone else associated with this edition. Neither have I received a free review copy or any other consideration for my praise of this exquisite Bible. My enthusiasm is totally and completely from the heart. If the features I have described above are of value to you, I highly recommend this edition of the Holy Bible to augment your study and worship. May God bless you as you dwell in his Word.

I received this beautiful bible from Evangelical Bibles around a month ago. Firstly, I live in New Zealand and it only took 6 days to reach me. I was so pleased about that. Secondly, the bible itself meets all my expectations and more. Zondervan have done an outstanding job with the very supple purple goatskin, very readable print, good quality paper and that wonderful yellow spotted paper edging. In my opinion this bible equals anything the major premium bible publishers produce. A great bible for NRSV readers.
