Schuyler never disappoints with their Bibles. The craftsmanship on them are second to none! I love the deep, dark brown, marbled Mahogany colour on this Calfskin, along with the art gilding, which goes very nicely with the three ribbons; two dark brown and one gold. The text is nice and clear, with a very good 11-point size font. Having cross-references, a concordance, Translators to the Readers and Epistle Dedicatory, King’s English glossary and high quality maps are a must have for any premium KJV Bible.
I was close to getting the Tuscany calfskin Bible (which looks amazing), but I ended up going for this one because of the addition of the creeds, confessions and catechisms of the church in the back of the Bible. I have been into church history and the church fathers recently (the CSB Ancient Faith Study Bible has been a very useful resource delving into this topic), so it’s nice to not only have the creeds (the Apostles, Nicene, Chalcedonian and Athanasian creeds), but also confessions and catechisms from the reformation onwards, starting with Augsburg all the way up to the London Baptist confession. It’s been a very good and interesting read so far. I think the creeds and confessions are a great way to summarise the doctrines of the faith (as found in scripture) and also to respond to false teaching and heresy that the church has dealt with for two millennia, until our Lord returns to permanently get rid of all false doctrines.
If you would like a high quality, premium Bible, then this is the one to go for. Absolutely stunning through and through, which only makes sense, as God’s holy Word deserves such superlative treatment.
