I’m trying to understand the art gilt on my last NKJV and on this small Canterbury. Why is it pink now (I had to redo the gilt on my NKJV just to get it “red”)? And what’s confusing is that the 1st run of the Canterbury had it right! So why go away from the red art gilt, to a pinkish one? When I open to the gospels, where the red letter is, the pink screems at me. My friend’s thine line NASB had the pink, so I avoided it. But I did not think that the Canterbury would! Boy was I wrong. I like the Allan red, or even the Cambridge salmon. Schuyler even used to have that color. Not sure what is going on here with the newer gilt. I hope my favorite company Schuyler changes direction on this. I’m going to have to add red to this one also. Needless to say, I’m quite disappointed. If you are like me and can’t take the pink art gilt, get the blue – it’s flawlessly executed.

I do have to note this follow up to be fair to Schuyler: once I darken the art gilt, this bible will be my go everywhere bible. The craftsmanship, readability, and book block design are that good!!!!! I have changed the ribbons – as I always do, and it will be ready to go tomorrow.

This is a terrific Bible in a smaller package. The text and font is beautiful and very readable. As an AV Bible believer I’m very happy to see that the text is the Pure Cambridge Edition from around 1900. It’s also a red letter edition which is my personal preference. This is the perfect Bible to take with you wherever you go.

For years I have always bought less expensive Bibles, and thus have never been totally satisfied. Most of the issues were in the craftsmanship, which can often times be okay at best and most times was very poor. I have had Bibles with pages glued together, folded & chopped page edges, and a slew of other issues. I hated to see the word of God being treated as though it was just another book; hastily put together in mass production. Bibles I bought from bookstores never felt like a Bible I could live with for years. Which is sad when you consider that the Holy Bible should be the one physical thing you should carry with you throughout life. I was disappoint to say the least in everything from the value Bibles to even high-quality Bibles made by well known publishers.

After years and countless Bibles bought (most of which I ended up donating to churches) I decided to buy a Schuyler Bible. I went with the Personal Size Canterbury in the black calfskin, as it was a fantastic price and really caught my eye (design wise). I eagerly awaited its delivery and was taken aback by how amazing it really was. The Bible was well packaged, which showed a level of care not often seen in our modern world. As a former manager of a shipping department, my compliments to your shipping team. The packaging which held the Bible is beautiful and well designed. I am grateful that these Bibles are so well packaged and kept safe.

The most astounding part of the whole thing was of course the Bible itself. Like I said, I have owned many Bibles and have seen my fair share of issues. This Bible was absolutely flawless! The amount of care and craftsmanship that went into this Bible is beyond what I ever expected and brought a smile to my face. Finally someone who cares about the Bible enough to craft it with such precision and care. From the cover down to the font on the pages, I love everything about this Bible. I realized that it is one of the least expensive editions, but to me it is an absolute treasure. I look forward to using this Bible for many years, I hope until the day I am reunited with our Lord Jesus Christ. Until that day I will have His word with me in a Bible that brings glory to His holy name.

I want to thank you all once again for offering such a fantastic Bible. Words cannot describe how much this Bible means to me. It will be a faithful companion on my Christian journey and will never leave my side.

I ordered this personal size calfskin KJV while it was on sale, and I’m pleased with the quality for the price. This is a well designed Bible, just the right size for hand use. The red drop caps fit perfectly with the eloquent language of the KJV. The red almost looks like a tawny golden, but that might be my lighting. Regardless, they look very good. The ribbons are navy as the description says, not red as the photo shows, if that matters to you. The calfskin is very smooth and the Bible lies flat when open. I love the hand-held size and the font is very readable even for my older eyes.

I bought this Bible earlier in the year, to help me decide if I wanted to go ahead and get a Wide Margin when it came out; I’m thrilled to say I now own both! I love this personal size Bible; it’s small enough to travel with easily, but not so small that it looks like a “pocket Bible.” I’ve even taken some notes in it and have used it to give a couple of classes at church. This Bible lays flat, even in Genesis 1, the font is very readable, and it just feels like a real good Bible (as opposed to a $10 Bible from a bookstore, with the leather that feels like plastic). My only complaint is the references at the bottom of the page; if I had my way with this one, I’d put the references in a center column, but I also understand this is one aspect that makes the Canterbury KJV different from, say, the Allan Oxford KJV.
I’d highly recommend getting one of these; it would be hard to find a better premium Bible for such a low price!
