This was my first purchase of a Schuyler Bible, and it is outstanding! The quality of construction is excellent, the marbled mahogany calfskin cover is beautiful, and the text is surprisingly easy to read for a personal-sized Bible. While some reviews have been critical of the margin settings for this Bible, I actually find the margins in this edition to be advantageous given the smaller size of the PSQ. Some other personal-size Bibles I have used in the past that maintain more standardized margins can be difficult to read as the text nears the gutter in the center. This edition of the PSQ employs more generous margins in the gutter and narrower margins along the edge, which ensures the text is easy to read all across the page. I am very happy with this Bible and look forward to purchasing more Bibles from Schuyler in the future!

There’s a lot to love about this Bible.
BUT one frustrating flaw is how narrow the margins are. In my copy, the outer margin is sometimes a mere 3/16″ or 5mm, which is miniscule. In comparison, the gutter margin is 9/16″ or 14mm – almost three times as wide. This means that the text block looks like it’s been squeezed to the edge. I *think* this is a printing error, because the PDF of the page layout shows a more generous outer margin. It’s a real shame, to be honest, given how expensive the Bible is.
Apart from the tiny margins, everything else is perfect. But, I can’t go above 3 stars because the margins are pretty important to the overall feel of the page.
