I purchased my first Schuyler PSQ ESV in Imperial Blue after hours searching for “the one”. This would be my go to, everything Bible that I would use for personal devotions at home and for preaching and giving Bible studies on the road for decades to come. For more in-depth study I use Bible software.

Size: My initial fear was the PSQ would be too small. The size turned out to be spot on. It’s big enough to be easily read and handled, but small enough to take anywhere. It doesn’t look like a tiny pocket Bible, nor does it look like a giant study Bible. I almost went for a thinline Bible but so glad I went with this instead. It doesn’t feel too thick or thin.

Reading experience: My second fear was the font would be too small. While 8.5pt font is indeed small, the font they use somehow looks bigger and clearer than you’d expect. The text is crisp and easy on the eyes even when holding the Bible an arm’s length away. Mind you I have 20/20 vision. I could imagine those with poor eyesight preferring the font size in the standard Quentel or having to use reading glasses. Bleed through isn’t bothersome. Initially I wanted a verse by verse Bible to make it easier to navigate when preaching, but I actually think the paragraph layout makes it read more smoothly like a book, and finding verses wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. Overall the text and page layout is visually pleasing, making it a joy to read for long periods of time.

Durability/Quality: This is my first goatskin Bible. The leather feels luxurious yet rugged enough to take a beating. I was afraid the 28 gsm paper would feel too thin, but it feels premium, smooth, strong and resistant to tears. You can tell they used a special paper in this Bible. Despite being 28 gsm, it doesn’t bleed through as much as in other paper. Perfect craftsmanship all throughout. I have no doubts this will last a lifetime and can be passed on to my children.

Look and Feel: This is my first Schuyler and the pictures and videos don’t do justice to seeing and holding it in person. I purchased a different Bible last year hoping it would be my main Bible, but I just couldn’t quite connect with it and something felt off. With the PSQ I immediately felt at home like it was custom made for me. I was afraid the Imperial Blue would look too bright and gaudy like a royal blue, but in person it looks more dark and elegant, which is what I was hoping for. Everything comes together nicely with the blue ribbons and blue under gold gilding. I also got my full name imprinted in the 18pt Goudy font which came out beautifully and really makes it feel personal.

Shipping and Customer Service: Evangelical Bible was responsive to my inquiries. I placed my order on a Tuesday and they had it custom imprinted and shipped out within the same day. The Bible was on my door step in Canada less than 24 hours via FedEx! I would gladly purchase from EB again in a heartbeat.

Take note that my phone camera and the device you are using to view the pictures might affect how you perceive the Imperial Blue colour.

Beautiful leather and clear text – easy to use and perfect size, I’ve previously had a cross way compact and my eyes are very thankful for the upgrade. Definitely an investment but worth it to have such a beautiful way of reading God’s Word.

First time owning a premium Bible. I am impressed with the quality and craftsmanship they put in to produce a bible like this. The touch, the scent and overall look is just beyond words.

Thank you and blessings to the Schuyler family.

Love this Bible. Very happy with the size and quality of this Bible. I have many Bibles and love this one the most. But the most important thing it’s the Word of God. Thank you Evangelicalbible.com for making it fast and easy to get a well made Bible. And lastly the people who work there are very helpful.

Quick review. Great quality material. Portable size. Readable text size. My wife and I both have one. I like better than full size, which is too big for my taste.

Absolutely Beautiful!!! This is a perfect size which is a nice sweet spot between a bible that’s too big and one that’s too small. The font size and style is the right size and although there is no concordance which I don’t use at all really, there is a healthy amount of maps at the end and some spare note taking pages. I love that their are 2 ribbons, this is more than enough and the quality of them are really good. The feel of the binding and paper used to make this bible is perfect. I like how the goatskin feels. I find this one to be softer than the NIV version for some reason. The art gilt edging is beautiful but I’ve tarnished it already when it got wet in the rain which is a shame but that’s just my own fault (So as a tip, don’t take it out in the rain or cover it up if your jumping from your car to Church or house group). Obviously the translation is the best according to my biased viewpoint but to be honest you can’t go wrong with the ESV as its a more word for word translation and yet flows more nicely than some of the other word for word translations. The colour is beautiful! Its not too dark and yet not too light a shade of blue which is the right kind of mixture between the two shades. Overall this is such an amazing Bible!! Very happy and it now will have a sage home with me in my times of study and devotional reading times.

I am from Puerto Rico USA. I bought my blue personal Schuyler ESV last year and I am overwhelmed! I take it with me every where. Gorgeous, legible…. what else can I say! Amazing! In less than a year I had purchased 6 premium Bibles… And love them all. Planing to buy a few more for my collection! Thank you evangelicalbible!

Excellent Bible. Got the Quentel ESV a month ago but wanted a smaller version for Church. I use the Quentel for reading at home and my PSQ for Church, midweek, home group and anything else outside of home. I love how the same passage is on the same part of the page in the Quentel and the PSQ. The font is very readable despite the 8 point size, and I can read it without my glasses! Marvellous quality as always from Schuyler. I will not need another Bible in my life! I do not miss the concordance as I have it in my Quentel. Absolutely fantastic. Wonderful service from Evangelical Bible and Fedex as always. Ordered and was shipped on Monday, and I had it here in the UK on Friday. Highly recommended!

I purchased this Bible back in November 2018 and am not writing a review. I was looking forward to this Bible so much because of the great reviews and I must say I was disappointed because of couple flaws on the cover.

First, the top right corner under the yapp was extremely rough and prickly. It hurt to run my finger over it. It’s supposed to be smooth. Second, there was some stitching sticking out on the back bottom. I wish the stitching would be on the inside of the cover and not on the outside. Every video review I saw of this Bible was absolutely flawless. They would do these extreme close-ups all around. Yet, my Bible had these two really annoying flaws.

However, I still give this Bible 5 stars because there are so many good things about it. The best is its size! It just feels so good in my hand! No other Bible feels this good. I also like the smooth pages and the readability of the layout and font. It’s a wonderful Bible and I highly recommend it.

Schuyler’s high-end line of Bibles, the Quentel, now has a new edition – the ESV. The Quentel was designed to be the most elegant Bible on the market. It’s one of those extremely rare cases (especially in modern day publishing) when elegance and beauty are placed above size and price. In this review I take a close look at its features and see if it lives up to the hype. The edition I’m reviewing is the Imperial Blue with blue under silver art-gilt edges and gold stamping on the spine.

Purchased this as a gift for my wife. Was pretty envious when it came in and I realized how great of a Bible it really is. I won’t go into great detail—that’s already been done. I will say that it is as perfect of a one-size-fits-all Bible as can probably exist. The gilting is beautiful. The leather is so soft and floppy. I love it, but more importantly she loves it. Cannot recommend highly enough. Worth every single $0.01

I have to say this is a very very nice bible. I could not believe the attention to detail that goes into a Schuyler. I have the imperial psq in esv. I am really loving this bible I honestly started to send it back. Due to its size I really had a toss up between the full size and the personal. But after opening the Bible and reading a few pages it is just a delight to my eyes. Schuyler done a great job on readability and the size. I am so glad I went with the personal size. You can take it with you and it doesn’t weigh you down. Also I ordered the Bible on a Wednesday and I received my bible on sat! Thanks evangelical bible you have awesome great service. No hopefully one day I will own the full size too.

    Great looking Bibles.

Wow! That was my first thought after removing the Schuyler PSQ ESV from its box. Quality off the charts. A pleasure to hold in the hand – soft as butter; perfect size. The text is a pleasure to read with my 56-year-old eyes (added by my glasses of course). Crisp and clear. The line matching is wonderful. Simply an outstanding product. Everything should be made this well.

Remember the Lynrd Skynyrd lyric: “ooh, that smell?” Man, these bibles have the most wonderful leather smell of high quality. I purchased this personal sized Bible not fully knowing what to expect but was smiling big when opening up the box. High quality and very light weight make this size perfect for any situation, especially when traveling. Money well spent for such quality craftsmanship and an heirloom well suited for passing on for many generations. I was so pleased that I also purchased a full-sized NKJV Schuyler and wrote a second review. Schuyler has set the standard for high-end top of the line craftsmanship – owning these Bibles are worth every penny! There are not enough words to describe how fantastic Schuyler bibles are … you have to smell one to truly understand!

What an amazing little Bible. My first thought when I unboxed it was, “This is so handy!” The second thought when I opened it up to get a peek at the text was, “This is so readable!” These two thoughts are why the PSQ is an absolute home run. This Bible fits so perfectly in my hand and will be able to be carried with hardly a second thought. That’s a big deal for someone on his feet a lot as a greeter at church. As delightful as that sensation is, opening the PSQ was even better. The leather is very pleasantly soft (this is also a big deal for me, weird as it is–I’m tactilely sensitive for some reason and some books are very difficult for me to hold without discomfort, such as many clothbound books) and conforms nicely to the hand as it lays open. Furthermore, one hand is more than sufficient to hold an open PSQ. The text, the real glory of the PSQ, is magnificent. It’s significantly smaller than the Quentel’s 11 pt font but the Milo font reads big as always. I feel like I could read it for hours! Just like the Quentel also, the verse numbers are also tremendously easy to pick out when you need to find a verse, such as in church or Bible study, but unobtrusive when you just want to read. The references are tiny but still more than readable. This is a very useful little Bible that will also be a joy to read. I’m also a fan of the paper. It seems very sturdy and the pages are easily turned without difficulty or fear of accidentally crinkling pages, which is perfect because this will be my carrying Bible to church and bible studies. Lastly, I got the Imperial Blue to match my Imperial Blue Quentel. No surprises there but this blue is absolutely lovely. Blue in all its shades is my favorite color but this is a lovely color for a Bible. It’s understated and doesn’t scream “Look at me!” but it’s quite different than the usual black or brown. I’m an admirer of the blue art gilt edging as well. Very serene and relaxing while you’re reading.

I’m a huge fan of the Quentel series. I’ve been using my Quentel ESV for my daily morning reader since 2015, and while I theoretically prefer single column, you can’t beat the Quentel for early morning bleary-eyed reading with a cup of coffee at your kitchen table. It’s a true joy and pleasure to meet with the Lord every day with it. Even though the Quentel is a bit big for me to comfortably carry at church and read using only my hands, I waffled on getting a PSQ until the first printing had nearly sold out entirely with only green and brown remaining available. I’m so glad that 1) I sprung for the PSQ and 2) that I waited for the second printing to get an Imperial Blue. I’ve been using the ESV Bible app on my phone at church but I deeply prefer a printed Bible. I’m completely certain that this PSQ will become a close friend that travels with me all over the place, just as the Quentel is a daily part of my morning routine at the kitchen table. Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication in making such wonderful Bibles that make reading a pleasure, EVB!
