This is the 1st time I have owned a QUALITY Bible since I was saved in 1978. What took me so long???? My 68-year-old eyes with the beginnings of cataracts aided by my trifocal prescription eyeglasses are relaxed as I read my NEW Schuyler Quentel ESV, Marbled Mahogany Calfskin Bible. It is a JOY to read and lay out on the table in front of me, or in worship in my hands or lap. Thank you SO MUCH for the 11 pt font. The layout of this ESV is amazing.
BTW – I looked up the name meaning of Schuyler on the net, here is what I found:
pronounced SKY-ler. It is of Danish origin, and the meaning of Schuyler is “scholar, protection”.
Need I say more? Get one for yourself…WORTH every penny! ♥

I love the feel and readability of this Bible.! You will not regret purchasing this heirloom of the future. The craftsmanship of this volume is in incredible. My purchase was the calfskin version and I am beyond pleased. I have goatskin Bibles that I love the supple feel of, and was concerned about going to the calfskin but I shouldn’t have been. The cover and Bible in general are a pleasure to hold. The Bible reads easier than many of my translations and versions. The font and pages are easy on the eyes even for extended reading. I also enjoy reading from it during church services as it is ideal for use while preaching or addressing a congregation or Bible study.

I just purchased the Quentel ESV in Marbled Mahogany and I must say, this is the nicest and most elegant Bible I have ever had. The quality of craftsmanship and materials brings another level of enjoyment to reading the Word, and I anticipate having this Bible for a lifetime!

I received my Bible today and it just the quality work many have come to except from Schuyler. Everything about it says premium. The quality of and color of the cover is outstanding as is the art gilt edges.
Benjamin Sutton –
I bought one Quentel in marveled calfskin and another in goatskin. Both are excellent quality, but I prefer the thicker cover of the calfskin Bible. It feels more substantial and is less floppy.
Randall Cue –
This is a beautiful Bible. The color and feel of the calfskin are great. The type is clear and large enough for easy reading. The paper has a great feel, and I think is just about the right thickness. the Bible is a little large and heavy, but it fits nicely in my hands.
There are a few things I would change if I could. In Psalms, I would switch the fonts for the pericopes and the superscriptions. In fact, I would have all of the pericope titles in the smaller font that the superscriptions in Psalms are written in. The pericope titles are just too big in my opinion. I would prefer that all of the red type were replaced by bold black type. Finally, I would like the headers at the top of the page to show chapter and verse rather than just chapter. For example, on page 404, the header is 2 Samuel 19-20. I would rather see 2 Samuel 19:43.
All in all, I would highly recommend this Bible for anyone in the market for a premium Bible.

I received this bible on February 14th and was completely blown away upon opening the box. I have been eyeing premium bibles for some time now and was so excited to finally be the owner of a Schuyler Bible.
Here is a video of an unboxing and initial impressions of the bible I recorded upon receiving it: https://youtu.be/fiqhuvCFiA0
Here are some photos I took of the bible as well: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1f_AtAVzBxN9RBaIMI1cYd_3UuPdA-GpJ?usp=sharing
I cannot say enough good things about this edition of the ESV Bible.
Mark Holloway –
This is an awesome bible. Its thinner than previous Quentels, appears to be about as thick as the ESV Cambridge Topaz Bible. Same quality, easy to read, and the Mahogany cover is a beautiful color and it’s very smooth, feels great. Highly recommend this edition.
I just received my Schuyler Qunentel ESV in marbled mahogany calfskin. What an exceptional bible. The calfskin is beautiful and supple. I really like the marbled effect.
Inside, the font and type-size are easy to read – even in the footnotes. Its text is beautifully presented, with black typeface but with red chapter numbers and headers.
I also appreciate that the Quentel went on a diet. I have an earlier and bulkier Quentel. You wouldn’t classify this one as a thinline, but it’s certainly trimmer and more manageable.
I’m so taken by this bible that I just ordered one in green. Once the green one arrives, my wife and I will have to decide who gets which color. Either is a win!
