Just received mine on Saturday and preached from it today. Absolutely beautiful. Cover is a beautiful blue and unbelievably soft. The gilding dances from blue to gold from different angles. Paper is perfect. Not so thin that you are afraid to tear a page by turning too fast, but not so thick as to be cumbersome. It feels perfect in the fingers while moving from passage to passage. The font is perfect as well. Easy on the eyes and extremely legible font. The line matching is spot on. No greyish area where the text is. Clear lines for every passage. The maps are astounding, especially the one that gives where Paul wrote each letter from. This is a pastor’s bible. Perfect for preaching. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a lifetime bible.

Received this lovely and dynamic setting of the NKJV. The imperial Blue with blue under gold is a work of art. The color is easy on the eyes. The red letter is superb- not too dark or too light and makes it easier for me to find the words of Christ when I need to v.s. a black letter edition. Soft and supple cover as well which is nicely stitched on the periphery. The new maps are especially helpful for Bible study. I recommend the Quentel for any fan of the NKJV.

This bible is absolutely perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing.
I tend to get over excited about new maps in bibles. These were definitely worth the hype. I am so glad Schuyler put the ministries of Jesus in this bible. The map of Jerusalem is well done and in good form. These maps seem to fit perfectly with the Schuyler design.
The red letter is a perfect shade of red leaning to the darker side. (Dark red clay) The verse numbers are bold enough to find easily in the paragraph format. The font is easy on the eyes which makes reading a joy and not a chore. Somehow this paper is thinner than the 1st printing nasb quentel but has nearly identical opasity. The paper is a soft smooth creamy milky matte white. The raised hubs sets the look of the bible I.e it looks like a bible and not a journal.
The blue is a nice shade and the new calfskin liners make the book more flexible. It still retains enough regitity to stay firm in your hands but lays completely flat on a table. (Very hard to pull off but they managed it). The art gilding is a nice shade of blue and the gold gives it a hint of aqua marine like on old babtismry in a methodist church. Gilt line was perfect. One think most folks don’t think of the headbands. I’m so glad there are only three book mark ribbons and their spaced out evenly. The headbands were very secured in place. The spine reinforcement was another detail I liked; don’t have to worry about the spine falling apart later on ( Lord willing I make it to then).
The Jerusalem cross on the front is a bit standie outie but its blind stamped witch sets a perfect tone between just enough without being too much.
The weight isn’t bad considering its size; it feels very solid in the hands.
Words can’t really convey how great a tool this bible is. Its like Schuyler somehow knew everything I was looking for and put it in one bible for me. It feels more custom than just a custom bible.
If your looking for a NKJV that will look nice and last you a lifetime then get this one definitely.
I hope I hit every area that anybody would want to know about.

Received My Schuyler Quentel Imperial Blue NKJV (Red Ltr) edition today. Beautiful Bible. I love the soft but thick goatskin cover. The thickness is cut down a little from the 1st edition which I like very much. The print and blocking is so well done. Print is crisp!! The margins are great because being a large print a lot of times it winds up in the gutter of the Bible and you have a hard time reading it. Not on this one!! There’s only one reason I give it a 4 star instead of a 5. Because of the weight and thickness. They’ve made it a little thinner then the 1st edition, but still heavy and thick. Love it though!! If you could find a way to make it about a 1/4 thinner and 3/4 to a pound lighter you’d have a 6 star review.

Ordered and received my Blue Schuyler Quentel Red Letter edition. Absolutely beautiful goatskin leather cover, luxurious and supple. Spine strong and sturdy. Beautiful ribbons in a perfect navy blue color. The text is very readable and I find it extremely pleasant to the eyes with the lovely edging blue color under the gold that is so appealing. Textblock is awesome and references nicely laid out together at the bottom of the page. The maps are beautifully laid out and there’s some really interesting details in the textblock of the Assyria and Babylonian Empires map. The Ministry of Jesus is also very informational as well as on all the other beautiful maps. I only give it 3 stars for 2 reasons:- Firstly, the bottom right corner came with very slight damage to the pages but it is not largely noticeable but very slight which kind of disappointed me a bit after such excitement in receiving it. Secondly the concordance is rather tiny print. There’s a lot of wasted space and if the print was made an 8pt at least (1 pt less than the bible text itself) then I would give it 5 stars but I find that I’m hardly using the concordance because it’s a strain on my eyes which is a pity. But altogether, I am still happy with my purchase and it’s still beautiful to use and read out of. It is fast becoming my favourite bible to use next to my KJV Westminster Reference Bible.

The font size and style are absolutely the best I’ve ever seen in any bible. I cannot stop reading this Bible once I start. It seemed a little too big at first, but once I started reading it, I realized that it was well balanced in my hands, and easily forgot about the big size. I tend to like smaller bibles better for the portability, but I now carry this Bible as my main daily reader. The design of the text, the line matching, and the quality of the paper just make this Bible a real pleasure to read!!

This Bible is awesome. Text does not run in gutter at all. Paragraph format, but easy to find verse number. Plenty of extra blank pages front and back. Binding solid, even before Genesis stay flat and open. Goatskin or calfskin to me is like comparing white grapes to red grapes. Maps are solid. However I disagree with possible Exodus route. I do think the concordance could be larger font. The set up of references and other possible readings for each verse make this Bible great. Clean reading Bible that in my opinion can’t be beat. Especially in workmanship and design. When you get this Bible, remember it is a custom built one.

The first ‘heirloom’ bible I’ve ever purchased and well worthy of that distinction, and also the only bible I’ve had to remind myself to be careful to love God’s words contained in the bible more than the bible itself as the vehicle of God’s word.

The blue Quentel is the most beautiful color available! Received mine today and it was simply perfect. Cover was super smooth and very soft. The text size is great for extended reading. The layout of the text and references is unique. The text size on the concordance is small – not a problem for me, but could be a challenge for some. This is the best deal ever on a superb full size Bible.

Last year I saw a blog post about a company that was making amazing quality Bibles that would last a lifetime. I was so sick of having to find a new Bible every few years that I spent quite a while reading all the reviews, even though I believed there was no way I could actually afford one. I also love the NJKV and assumed it would not be one of the offered translations. Lo and behold, I found this particular Bible that was priced in range of being asked for as a joint Christmas present from my children. They gave it to me Christmas Eve and I was blown away. I think several of them wanted to keep it for themselves. I can’t go into all the helpful details that other reviewers have because I don’t know that much about handcrafted books. My previous idea of the differences between Bibles was “leather” and “fake leather”. The first thing I noticed was the lovely blue color. It took re-reading reviews for me to notice the color changing on the page edges. Beautiful. The three ribbons are wonderful for marking the locations for my yearly Bible reading plan (and one daughter REALLY liked that feature). The Bible is actually pretty small considering the wonderful size of the print and the thickness of the paper. The font is incredible and makes it so easy to read even though other Bibles I have owned have a larger font size. The color of the paper is lovely and so easy on the eyes and feels wonderful while turning pages. The arrangement of the pages surprised me as all I remember noticing was the two-column format, so I had not noticed that the text is divided into paragraphs rather than having each verse start at the beginning of the column. Once I realized how large and clear the verse numbers were within the paragraph I decided I actually loved this. The text seems to flow better and I can switch from straight reading to studying using the textual notes and cross-references at the bottom of the page easily. Because they are at the bottom of the page, the references don’t break up the reading if you don’t want to use them, but are easily accessible when desired. I love the maps and the map indexes also. The concordance is in much smaller print, which I appreciate as it cuts down the weight and thickness of the Bible. The font used still makes the references very readable, in my opinion. I also did not know that you could get a black-letter Bible and realize I actually prefer it to the red-letter versions. I can’t say enough good things about this Bible. Thank you for making something I know I will use and love for years.
