Stuck my neck out and bought this red one as well as a blue one earlier. I am not a red sort of guy but this will definitely get everyone’s attention. Everything about the Quentel Bibles are they are awesome. Nice large print, line matching, layout great. Now I got a decision to make. Which one to use and which one to keep as new. Probably carry and read the red one. The paper thickness is perfect for me. Waiting for the next Quentel Bible the ESV coming toward end of the year. It is slightly thinner paper (about ten percent thinner) but the opacity is supposed to be the same as this NASB Quentel. If you want the Best Bible made get a Schuyler Quentel it has it all. Not as heavy as I originally commented. I weighted the bible and a few bricks. All the bricks were heavier by quite a bit. LOVE this series of Schuyler Bibles. And they are not as heavy as my first review of my blue one. Thanks to Schuyler and evangelical Bible for selling the best you can get. You will never again need to buy another Bible with these. Rate this a 10.

I already had a copy of the blue cover Bible. Now I have a red one. I didn’t want to use the Blue one so I ordered the red one and am in a quandry. They are both georgeous Bibles. This one was really checked out and I found no flaws. I can usually find something but no this one was just great. I am not a flashy sort of guy so red seemed a little over the top to order. However it will be fun showing top quality to many who are not familiar with Schuyler Bibles. Especially a red one. Once they see it I am sure they will want one. What is better than having the Rolls Royce of Bibles or a small cheap car. Can’t wait to get my hands on the new esv quentel coming in a few months. Love my allans but they will have trouble going up on the new quentel series of Bibles. The text is awesome. Thanks Schuyler for perfection and Evangelical for perfection in their servec.

Beautiful and elegant! The firebrick red goatskin cover is gorgeous as are the maps and gilt edging (red under gold). The heavier india paper combines with the larger typeface and very readable font to make the Quentel a delight to read from. The page format allows the cross references and footnotes to almost disappear from sight, keeping the focus on scripture alone. I ordered mine when they first became available and have greatly enjoyed reading from it daily.

I am so pleased with this Bible. The Fire Brick Red really makes it stand out and the colour is nicely matched with the ribbons and the chapter headings in each book. It is a large Bible and I mostly use it at my desk or sitting comfortably in an arm chair, but this by no means is a negative or should be considered as a put off.

The Text is wonderfully clear and the pages are possibly the most opaque I have come across. The leather is smooth but strong and the binding is first class. I also own an Allan ESV Study Bible and the Cambridge NASB Wide Margin. Both these Bibles serve their own specific purposes, but when it comes to just sitting down and reading God’s Word I am always drawn to the Schuyler. This is a Bible to read and cherish for a life time, and I cannot think of any criticisms against it. Lovely work Schuyler.

This Bible is ” El Heffe” of the Bible world! Huge!. Beautiful and well made, the color of the fire brick red is awesome- not too light nor too dark. The Bible opens with ease and no creaky hinge sounds at all! The color contrast with deep red used in the Bible is great as it catches your attention for the right detail. Last, the Quentel is a great format for the timeless NASB and if you are a fan of the NASB, this one is worth it for study.

The Schuyler Quentel NASB is my second luxury bible purchase. When I read the initial reviews I must admit that I was a little concerned over the some of the statements as to the size and whether it would be comfortable to hold in my hands. I have Raynaud’s disease and frequently deal with pain in my hands. I was delighted to find that the Quentel’s size is actually very easy on my hands. I have been accustomed to holding study bibles and large print bibles, and the Quentel has the same feel and look (as far as weight and size) as a MacArthur Study Bible or a Ryrie.
One of the first things that I noticed was the elegant, muted nature of the Schuyler’s Jerusalem cross. In many of the pictures online, it seems to stand out, probably in consequence of the lighting. The reality is simply stunning in its subtly.
The goatskin is a beautiful, rich red and the edge stitching gives it a wonderful finished appearance. The Quentel’s 9mm yapp helps achieve a very clean, classic look. Reading this bible is an unparalleled treat. The thickness of the paper combined with the superb typesetting creates text that is extremely easy on the eyes. I am very fond of a single-column format, but the fact that the notes and references are located at the bottom of the page, leaves plenty of room for two very substantial columns. I suspects I won’t even miss my single-column.
Ribbons, there are four of them and though I am not normally a ribbon fan, there are a few distinctions in the Quentel’s that set them apart. They are a perfectly matched shade of red to the goatskin. Two of the ribbons are 12 inches long and the other two are 12 1/2 inches. The slight difference is helpful in quickly distinguishing personal reading from sermon passages. The ribbons are sewn in such a way that they lay between the pages better than any other I have seen.
The binding is tight and smooth. The pages turn easily and quietly, this was not the case with my last bible, which had significant dimpling in the gutter. The art-gilt edging is not as dark as some, but I happen to really like the fact that it doesn’t bleed into the paper. Again, it gives it a very clean, polished appearance. Each book of the bible begins on a new page, another attractive detail in the layout. Of course the crowning feature is the dark, uniform print on 45 GSM paper. Coupled with the line matching, this creates a text with minimal ghosting. It is highly legible, even from a distance.
It is an exquisite copy of God’s Word that I am very happy to own. It will see much use in my hands over the coming years.

The Schuyler Quentel is a wonderful edition of the Bible. It is hefty in size, be aware. But if you are looking for portability, go with the Clarion. But the print size is large, and best of all the pages are the thickest of any Bible like this I have seen. The only place you will find less bleedthrough on a Bible is in a pulpit Bible. The layout of the page is classic, with the dual column with references at the bottom. While not a “study Bible,” the layout is somewhat reminiscent (at least to me) of the old Oxford Annotated Bible in the RSV (though the Quentel layout is even better. The red print for chapter numberings and page headings, as well as the red line at the bottom of the text, are very nice touches. The pages are amazingly opaque. Page opacity is a growing issue for me, given that as I age and my “floaters” become more present in my vision, opacity is just as important for me as the font size. Since I use the NASB primarily for study reference (as I am an ESV enthusiast), I was torn on whether to purchase this. I am glad that I did. I have not seen anything that comes close in quality. I look forward to seeing this in the ESV as well. I ordered the firebrick red. It is done beautifully.
