I just received my Quentel Antique Marble Brown Goatskin NKJV (Red Letter) Bible a couple of hours ago (June 13, 2019). My only NKJV is a hardcover Nelson 401 that I purchased in 1982. I thank the Lord for being able to purchase this while able.

I am so glad this goatskin version with the Concordance became available again. The color is unique and very pleasant. A beautifully hand crafted bible and well laid out. I can read everything with these (now) 65 year old eyes. No hand crafted faults. The goatskin It is not as dark as my Schuyler Dark Brown ESV Goatskin nor my Cambridge Brown Goatskin KJV Turquoise. It is, however, a beautiful, supple, unblemished goatskin. The yapp seems longer and is already molded into shape from Jongbloed compared to my ESV.
The 28 GSM paper sure makes this bible slim compared to the ‘chunkier’ 36 GSM ESV. It has soft quality Indopaque paper, very readable font, quality gold ribbons, good maps (I would like to see a separation when a map spans two pages), six page Preface, three column concordance (small like the Schuyler ESV: it could use an increase in size).

The contents of the text are, basically, the same as in 1982 with some changes. Apparently, in 1984, there was a ‘silent’ change in which some text was changed. Example:
Matthew 2:3a : in the 1984 revision it says “When Herod the king heard this”, whereas in the original 1982 version, it says “When Herod the king heard these things”. I read once that the amendments made improved the “accuracy, clarity, and consistency” of the translation. Unfortunately, I do not have a list of all the changes made.

As usual, the family at Evangelical Bible I contacted (Beth, Ali, and others) took whatever time was needed to answer my questions. Also, they do read and follow the ‘Customer Notes’ request. How awesome is that! The staff took great care in creating, packing, shipping and keeping me in the loop of the purchase – Thank you!

    Blessings to all!

P.S. – Sorry for being so verbose.

I just got this Bible today (I had preordered it). I usually wait to do a review however, I must say this Bible is better than expected! Just when you think Schuyler can’t get any better they do. The leather is very soft, smells amazing, and is stunningly beautiful!! The text is extremely clear easy to read and the red letter is a really nice dark red. This is now my third Schuyler and I am just blown away…..if you like the NKJV (even if you don’t) you shouldn’t hesitate to get this edition it is the very definition of premium Bible and will certainly out live you! Thanks EV Bible for another amazing edition!!!
