This book features a new shade of purple, a skinnier cross imprinted on the cover, a redesigned Schuyler box, and blue under silver art gilt page edges with a navy blue liner. All this combined and this is the BEST purple Bible I’ve seen from Schuyler to date. The picture of the new purple is accurate. It’s a lighter shade than the stuff they used previously for their purple goatskin bibles. However, it is still a nice darker purple. But this shade cannot be mistaken for black or maroon. It’s legit purple. My personal favorite color. The blue and silver and navy blue compliment this shade brilliantly. It’s the package I would have picked out if I was the boss ordering pallets of bibles for EB.com. Thank you to those at EB who put this combo together. The new thinner cross is nice. Reminds me of the style they’ve been using on the zipper PSQs for a while now. It’s more appealing aesthetically for my tastes. The new box design is cool too. I like to see the specs on the back of the box. All in all a great book. Personally I’m happy that the NKJV retains the 11 pt. typeface. I find the larger Milo typeface extremely readable when teaching at church with the book sitting on a pulpit or music stand. The matching PSQ is a must if you can afford it. I like the size 10 font on the ESV and NLT with the bolder text along with the enlarged “MSQ” counterparts. But I would recommend EB keep these size 11 books and their smaller more compact psqs in their collection in lieu of converting them all over to the ESV scheme. That leaves a nice variety of offerings for all sorts of customers. If you like purple and can afford it you won’t be disappointed with this book.
