I’ve bought a number of Bibles from Schuyler now and this is my favorite.

I love the paper on this edition: it’s noticeably thicker than the standard 28gsm on most Schuylers (which is still nice paper), which makes it easier to turn pages, but more importantly it bleeds through less than any other Bible I have when underlining and making notes, and it is also more opaque than any of my other Bibles, making it easier to read.

A minor dislike is the fact that the print is lighter than the print on my regular Quentel NKJV, but it isn’t light enough to bother me — just something I noticed.

A couple other thoughts: It lies very flat. I like the leather. It fees very similar to the Desert Camel I had. I prefer the overall color scheme of this to the Desert Camel — the brown under gold gilding is more relaxing with the brown cover compared to the Desert Camel, which was more bold with the reds. This is personal preference, of course. I prefer colors that don’t distract me while I read.

I bought this Quentel Wide Margin NKJV because it was the best balance of readability with wide margins I could find for NKJV. I actually use it in tandem with my normal Quentel NKJV (with the 11 pt. font), which I keep on the stand to read, and have the wide margin on the desk for writing notes. Since they have the exact same layout it’s a cinch to find my place when switching back and forth. Maybe it’s a bit extravagant to have both, but anything that increases my enjoyment of the Word is worth it.

This is one of the most beautiful pieces of leather I have come across. Combined with the Quentel format and the really nice 40gsm paper, this makes for a very beautiful bible. The 9.5 font is very readable and the paper is tailor made for note taking.
