The Cambridge Concord Reference Bible is a gem that is often overlooked in the ever growing high quality Bible market place. It’s frankly one of our favorite Bibles in print. So why is it such a gem? The Concord Reference at 8 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ is portable. It’s a Bible that goes anywhere. Second, the Bible size doesn’t compromise legibility as is so often the case with smaller Bibles. Cambridge uses the Times Semi Bold (421) which at 8 point is more legible than the former ESV Large Print at 12.75. That’s the nature of fonts – they aren’t all created equal! With good India paper and line matching – a highly legible text is produced from a reasonably small font size. From the photos you will see what a pleasure it is to read and handle this Bible.
Beyond the basics of legibility and paper quality – you have some fantastic features not found elsewhere: namely a Bible Dictionary & Glossary that are most helpful. This is in addition to standard KJV features such as The Epistle Dedicatory and Translators to the Readers. Excellent Cambridge Maps are a part of this Bible, as well. The Bible comes in 4 styles: 1. Goatskin (Red Letter) 2. Goatskin (Black Letter) 3. Calfsplit (Thumb-Indexed) 4. Calfsplit (without the Thumb-Indexing)
This Bible offers a wealth of reference material–a glossary, concordance, dictionary of names and phrases, fifteen color maps, and gazetteer. Bold-figure cross-references link passages of the text without cluttering the page. evangelicalbible.com rates this among the best overall KJV Classic Reference Bibles available.
In addition, a presentation page and family record, India paper, gilt edges, ribbon markers, and a real leather binding make this a very attractive Bible. See our photos on Facebook.
