I recently purchased this Bible and am very pleased with it both aesthetically and functionally. It has an excellent group of features with the most cross references I have ever seen. It has a chain reference system that allows you to follow subjects thru the Bible. It also has plenty of white space in the margins. It is unique in it’s single column text and placement of references, footnotes, chain links, and space for notes (on most pages). The text is smaller than what is advertised, I think it compares more closely with an 8.25 when compared to an 8 point font in Lexicon (a similar Bible font used by ESV). The typeface is much bolder however. The goatskin and blue over silver art gilding are just as good as a Bible that would cost twice as much. One suggestion to the manufacturer would be to include a list of all the topical references in the back, and a couple sentences on how best to use it.

Not a fan of the NIV but I use a lot of translations for study and this is a very nice elegant NIV. I find this much more attractive than what Schuyler and Cambridge offer and that’s saying a lot (considering they’re the kings of premium at the moment). I absolutely love the colors used. Now blue is my favorite color and I would have preferred a royal or imperial blue cover but this is fine and aesthetically pleasing 🙂 The format is very clean and crisp. IF they made a KJV like this I would buy it immediately.

I first saw this bible on a youtube review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nt1o2WdMnAM

It’s an excellent review and she does a great job showcasing all the features. I definitely want to own this after seeing this video.

I love the color scheme with the black, blue, and silver. The layout is great and I really like the topical reference links, and I really like the thicker 36 gsm paper. I really wish the font was bigger especially for the size of the Bible.

Another beautiful Bible from Evangelical Bible…now I have a little Personal Size NIV Quentel to travel with me and a larger Premiere NIV for home study…one thing to mention as a correction …it has three Ribbon Markers not two.

  5. Pastor Rob Deuel

Though this is not a Schuyler Quentel I believe it is a great product placed out by Zondervan. Let me first say the goatskin cover is absolutely amazing. It is soft, pliable, and elegant. As with the other Premier Collections by Zondervan, each cover is slightly different reflecting the individual animals

The text is said to be 9.5 comfort prints. I must say the font does seem a bit small at times. I believe that this is a great study tool and reference Bible for the serious study if your preferred translation is the NIV. The 100,000 cross-references are useful and quite well done. In addition, the topical reference system is an amazing edition.
The Bible is well constructed and seems to be very durable; however, cosmetically there are some things I thought could be better.

    1. The translations notes moved to the bottom of the cross-reference section instead of being included in the main text block.

    2. The art-gilding leaves much to be desired. The silver gilding on mine was quite scratched up and rubbed off in some places. Additionally, the blue was very noticeable quite a change from the NIV Thinline premier collection. I actually took it upon myself to re-art gild it. The caliber of the blue is not on par with the imperial blue Quentel which I hope to be getting soon.

As a preacher I prefer the NASB; however, my church uses the NIV and I needed an NIV for ministry purpose. This was a great addition to my libary.
