This Bible is absolutely beautiful. The Desert Camel calfskin has a slightly rugged, textured feel in the hand—distinct from the smoother goatskin of my ESV Stridon (which I also love, just for different reasons). It gives the impression of durability without sacrificing refinement. The name imprinting stands out nicely against the leather and adds a personal, elegant touch.

In terms of form factor, this edition really hits a sweet spot. Compared to the newer Personal Size Quentel editions in ESV and NLT (which I’ve had the chance to handle), I find this older style offers a more satisfying thickness-to-size ratio, especially with the full yapp. It feels substantial without being cumbersome—ideal for a Bible I want to carry regularly.

One unexpected detail: the scent. It may sound odd, but the combination of the leather and paper has a rich, classic aroma that adds to the overall experience. It genuinely feels like a well-crafted heirloom, something meant to be used and cherished for years.

Overall, top marks. If you’re considering this edition, you can expect a Bible that is not only visually striking, but also thoughtfully constructed and built to last.
