  1. Justin Gass (verified owner)

Outstanding quality! I own other premium bibles and the quality of the Schuyler goatskin is the best.

  2. Samuel Costlow (verified owner)

    I absolutely love the quentel!!
As others have said the build quality is second to none. The goatskin is nice and soft with a good texture. Where the quentel really shines is reading. It is simply a pleasurable experience to read. The 11 point font is great, not much ghosting even on the 28gsm paper plus being line matched what ghosting there is doesn’t effect the readability whatsoever. I like how all of the cross references are at the bottom of the page. Keeps the page from feeling cluttered. And the maps!! The maps are great too!! They are on a thicker bible paper and are not glossy card stock. There’s 12 maps in total plus a chart of the divided kingdom. There is also an index to the maps so finding what you are looking for is a breeze. The only thing I would change is the font size in the concordance. It’s very small. The red accents help as well as the very bold print but it is small. Other than that one thing this bible is amazing

First of all, the customer service here is top-notch. Emails are responded to within a day and orders are shipped out immediately. The bible itself – incredible. I never knew they made bibles like this. You can tell this was made by people who love the Word and want people to love it, too. Binding is flexible but hardy. Pages are fairly opaque and have almost a luxurious finish to them. The leather is well beyond the ‘genuine leather’ you might encounter on other products. So impressed I ordered the personal size, as well. If you are looking for a lifelong bible or one you can pass on, look no further than the Quentel.

This was my first premium Bible purchase. After fretting over the right manufacturer, translation, and font size, I (finally) decided on the Schuyler ESV Quentel in the black goatskin. I could not have been happier with this purchase. After a careful inspection I could find no defects. It came carefully packaged and is just beautiful. It has the pleasing smell of a brand new luxury car with fine leather seats and is a dream to read. The 11 point milo font is perfect for me since I’ve recently required reading glasses. Most of my Bible study is done using online resources, but there is something about the majesty of holding God’s precious word in your hand for daily reading. The size and weight is perfect for me, whether reading in bed or taking to church. The portability is fantastic. If it’s in your heart to invest in a premium Bible, you will not regret the purchase of a Schuyler Quentel.

This is by far and away the most beautiful and well-built Bible I have had the pleasure of owning and reading. I love this Bible so much, I am planning on getting a Personal Size Quentel too. This Bible isn’t too big to travel with (this Bible is barely bigger than my thin-line Crossway ESV in large print) but as someone who travels often, I am going to get the PSQ so I have more room in my bag for extras.

I do not feel the need to repeat, in depth, any of the descriptions other to say they are accurate in the descriptions of the product, and I can echo the praises of other 5 star reviewers.

What I will do is 100% sing the praises of the customer service and warranty service from evangelicalbible.com. While reading my new Bible, I came to a passage that had, obviously during the manufacturing process because it was a single page (the neighboring pages were not damaged), a small hole in a single sheet right in the middle of a few verses. It wasn’t obvious as it was small, until you read the page and the verse was missing. I notified evangelicalbibles.com, they were quick to respond and I sent it back for them to check it with the warranty and an exchange for a new one. I had a new Bible in about a week. Bravo. They make gorgeous Bibles, and their customer service and warranty reflect excellence. I can highly recommend.

  6. Austin Epperson

This bible is exceptional. The quality of all of the materials and craftsmanship is hard to describe until you hold it in your hand. This is a lifetime bible for sure.

  7. Richard M Barany

This Bible is a dream come true. I have used the ESV since 2001 and have waited for an edition of this accurate yet readable version in a premium leather for years. I placed it away in April 2020 and decided not to open it until Christmas. It was well worth the wait. The leather was soft the Bible itself felt so flexible and naturally broken in. The 11pt font was comfortable to my old eyes. The feel, the smell and the fine workmanship was evident throughout. Years from now I will be able to pass this Bible down to someone who will be rewarded in reading God’s Word. This is the best ESV out there for reading teaching and preaching.

I love this bible!! It is so elegant, beautiful and is the best bible I’ve ever held! The pages are so creamy you just want to stay reading Gods love letter. Truly it is an honor! Thank you Schuyler and evangelicalbible!

I Own other Quentels but agree with so many others that despite their superlative construction, they are too bulky to take to Church or to use when teaching a class.

This new Quentel solves both of these issues.

The font is surprisingly large and clear.

It truly is more like a thinline.

As with all Evangelical Bibles, the binding and leather are without parallel.

My bible puchases will now end, unless of course a KJV apeears in this format.

  11. Robert MacElderry

This is the first “premium” Bible I have purchased and I am not disappointed. I actually purchased the “Credo” version which makes it slightly thicker. From the moment I opened the box I kept saying “Wow, Wow, Wow.” And that did not change when I opened the Bible and began reading. The type set is wonderful and very easy to read. The references are at the bottom of the page in a very symmetrical layout which is important to me but really means nothing regarding the content. It just looks good. This cannot even compare to my other leather Bibles. It would be like comparing a paperback Bible to a mass produced leather Bible. None of the pages stick together which has been my experience with other mass produced Bibles as it would take some time to “break it in.” It is just plain beautiful and it feels wonderful in your hand. You will not be disappointed. Be careful. Collecting different versions of this Bible can be addicting.

  12. Jacob Savage

I am what some people consider a bible snob. I love Gods word and love different kinds of bible. But I am very particular about when I first receive a bible. The cover has to be perfect, the guilt edges have to be perfect, the paper and lining has to be perfect, etc. Now obviously God has made us and we have our imperfections as finite creatures, so that is a pretty high expectation. However I just say, this is as close as it gets. I received a bible in the box that was almost flawless, or about as flawless as you can get. The leather is supple but firm, the badges are thick but but still thin, the edges are perfectly balanced on the edges with the red tilting with no faults in the hand painted red under gold. The lining and spacing is perfect. I cant believe you can craft a bible this well. There is nothing wrong with a more cost effective bible, and Gods word should be accessible. However if you want to buy a bible that you will have for years to come, that feels more personal because of its craftsmanship than look no further. I woke up this morning to read about Moses and The Exodus, and holding this wonderful piece of art in my hand, knowing it is the inspired word of God is just a treasure. Do yourself a favor and invest in – Schuyler bible. You can either keep spending 20-40 bucks a year or so on something cheaper, or spend a little more now to invest in something for years to come. This is a lifelong companion.

What a beautiful Bible! It is absolutely stunning and I am so pleased! I have been eyeing this Bible for a while and my wife got it for me to celebrate the birth of our son and it is such an amazing gift! You will not be disappointed if you purchase this one!

  14. wgmoore55

I received the new 28 GSM ESV Quentel [ESVQ] today. What can I say that hasn’t been said about the Quentel? The Bible is exquisite, so well made with quality materials, a Bible befitting the Word of God.

I didn’t really want another black Bible (this Quentel is the first premium Bible that I’ve purchased), but the Jerusalem Cross-embossed black goatskin cover with the deep rich red leather linings, ribbons, and red under gold art gilt edging looked classic and dignified in the photos, so I went with that. The photos provided a realistic representation of what the Bible in hand looks like. “Exquisite” seems an appropriate description.

I have seen and held a 36 GSM ESVQ, and I don’t believe anything is lost with the thinner 28 GSM except some overall Bible thickness. For a Quentel, this is getting into the “thinline” territory, relatively speaking. The 11-point printed text is crisp, the line matching is well done, the paper is smooth, and the ghosting is very acceptable.

I was looking for a Bible to lay on the pulpit when I preach, as well as on the desk when I study, and be able to read it without issue. The ESVQ looks like it will fulfill those purposes well. Whether one wants a general-purpose Bible or one from which to preach and teach, the Quentel is a great choice.

After decades of going through synthetic bibles, I feel as if I’ve finally come home! This bible is just exquisite. The black goatskin leather is is such a classic. The gilt is a dark rich gold and the cross stamped into the cover is a unique and reverent touch.

Inside, the layout is great for reading. The paper is a beautiful off-white and the print is evenly dark on every page. I really like having the references along the bottom, away from the reading area. And there aren’t any one-word lines in the poetry sections, so the verses don’t appear ragged. But it’s the red chapter and reference numbers that really add a pleasant visual touch to the page. I’ve never had a bible as luxurious as this one. It makes you want to open it up and just lose yourself in the reading.

It’s a bit hefty, but I’ve gotten used to it. That’s the tradeoff for having a large font and good quality paper, both of which I really wanted. I initially had the personal size, which is just as gorgeous, but I really needed bigger text. The original size Quentel has been updated over the years and this 2018 version is pretty much perfect for my needs!

  16. antcaputi978

An amazing bible. I love the Goatskin, the font, and the art gilding. Evangelical bible has great customer service as well. The Schuyler bibles are amazing all around and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a top of the line premium bible.

  17. Tom Graves

If you want to change your bible reading -want to go deeper – change the bible you read. So, if your goal is more joy while reading and chewing on the word there is one simple recipe you need: find the finest paper, printing and page design. It’s not the cover, binding, yapp, ribbons etc. – it’s what’s inside that counts. It’s what your eyes see and fingers feel when you’re in front of a verse that should be your single most important buying criteria. I’ve not personally held and read all the premium bibles available. I don’t need to. The Quentel ESV makes my mornings deeper and richer. My “search for the perfect bible” is over.

IMPORTANT***Before you make your decision, understand that the august 3rd party reviewers you may have looked at have not written about the current Quentel ESV you are considering. They wrote about the earlier versions in 45 gsm or 38 gsm papers. The current one is 36 gsm. They scare people off by comparing this to giant study bibles. Not true. MY ESV study bible is 2 1/2″ and 3007 pages. The Quentel is 1 3/4″ and 1651 pages = 30% thinner and (to me) weighs 50% less than the study bible. As a comparison, my Nelson NKJV is 1 1/4″ and comes in at 1711 pages. The Quentel is much closer to a standard bible than it is to a study bible. So, what’s the big deal? The reviewers have hurt the Quentel by doing this. Bottom line – yes the Quentel is a little heavier and thicker than average bible but it is SO MUCH MORE! I can tell you this bible is easy to carry around – no problem. This is a readers bible not a pocket bible.

I love my Green (which I never thought I would buy green) Schuyler ESV as it is gorgeous! This is a dumb question admittedly, but can someone explain to me how they do the Art gilt, I love it but I cannot figure out how it is done?? Thanks for tolerating a frivolous question.

  19. E. Rodriguez

Now THIS is a Bible! I’ve bought two Quentels so far, and I wanted my second purchase to be in the ESV. I have to say, everything about the Quentels is ideal. So much thought and superior craftsmanship goes into these Bibles, what can I say that hasn’t been said better than I could? It’s exquisite!

  20. Jayson Rowe

I just opened my new ESV Quentel and this thing is next-level. The leather is better, it lays open better and the art gilt is redder. Also the yapp folds a little. All of this gives a bit more of the feel of another premium Bible we all know and love along with the qualities that make the Quentel so awesome. Homerun! The one!
