It feels a little like going back to the Dead Sea Scrolls. OK, that might be a little over the top. But with the desert camel calfskin, and the text unmarred by versification, it is a peculiarly delightful experience. I like to have one Bible for reading and study. For 23 years I have used the Cambridge Concord and that Bible will always bring back a bit of nostalgia. The Concord is the Bible I purchased after yielding my life to Jesus. But This new Schuyler Treveris in desert camel calfskin is a unique experience that draws me into the text. Not the best smell for Leather but that is Ok. I wondered if I would like using it both for reading and study and I have come to the conclusion that I love it. The is will be “The One” for me it seems. Time will tell but that seems to be the case for now.
The verses being outside of the text allows you to forget about verse breaks altogether unless you need them. You can read with a particular freedom. But on top of that I have studied day after day (in the Treveris) looking up individual texts to see if I could be comfortable with this and I have no problem with it. I believe I will have no difficulty in Bible study or preaching from the text. You look for the verse and go to the first capital letter and it works for me. You can download the PDF to see if it will work for you. Have devotions for a few days with the PDF, on your computer, and see if you are comfortable with it.
I love the drop caps. Some do not appreciate them. I think they are perfect and appreciate them as a chapter break. They do not interrupt my reading. Books have chapter breaks and having them helps me realize the chapter is ending/beginning. I get it, there were no chapter breaks in the original books of the Bible, but I am happy to have them.
The Cambridge Concord is, in my humble opinion, the perfect size Bible. The Treveris is virtually the same size. So that was a massive positive to me. Not too large, not too small. Perfect handheld size for reading, carrying and preaching.
Having no center column reference means I pick up the book The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, which is a great study tool. It has many more references than a standard center column reference. That book will deepen anyone’s understanding of God’s Word. I have found that I seem to have a better experience reading in a book than on a screen. There is research to back that up. People retain more in a book than on a screen. They also grasp the text better in a book.
I love that this Bible is a blank slate. No one’s suggestions as to the text. I can read and study and put small markings in the empty space on the margins. Underlining, small notes (very small) and only personal input. I quite like that. The font is beautiful. I would prefer it slightly bolder like Nelson Comfort Print font. The Cambridge Concord has bold print that pops off the page and If the Treveris’s print were slightly bolder I think it would pop more. That being said it is still a nice 10 point font. It has the feel of reading a standard biography which is very pleasing.
This, to me, is a five-star Bible. My wife and I have owned Allan’s, Cambridge’s, Nelson Premier and Signature series Bibles and the quality of Schuyler is unsurpassed. I am very thankful for their efforts. But I do love the Nelson’s Comfort Print font. Those of you at Evangelical Bible consider a darker bolder font in an upcoming Bible. I don’t simply mean larger font but bolder like the Concord. It is smaller but remarkably readable. Bold pops.
I wish they would have put the King James Archaic word English Dictionary in the back instead of the concordance but so is life. Everyone has their own desires. Thank you Schuyler for this absolute blessing. To me it is every bit worth the money. May the Lord bless you all in the reading of His Word.

This is my second Schuyler Bible and I am still blown away by the quality and craftsmanship. The desert camel leather is my new favorite from them, and the burgundy leather liner is the cherry on top. It really suits the look of the Bible.
As for the layout, I was skeptical about whether I would like the single column format. However, after reading it for a bit I can’t put it down. I love how readable it is. Perfect for when you just want to sit down and read the Bible.
Overall, I highly recommend Schuyler, and turn to them for all of my Bible needs. There is definitely a price premium, but the lifetime quality is well worth it.

This bible is exactly what I’ve been looking for. The font is perfect, the color way is absolutely stunning and the desert camel calfskin is hands down the best looking I’ve ever seen. This full yapp version is breathtaking. Excellent job Schuyler!
