I love the layout of this bible. It’s a generous in every way single column layout.
The red chapter and verse numbers make it easy to find verses without interfering with readability. The paper feels great. It’s big, but not so big that it’s hard to take places. Maybe a bit big to be your one and only bible but if you have a portable one this is a great one for 90% usage.
Minus one star for not a great feel for the goatskin leather, it’s kind of hard and inflexible compared to Schuyler Bibles. My PSQ has a much nicer feeling goatskin. Also, I have both the synthetic and goatskin versions of the CSB wide margin and they both seem to use the same text block, but the goatskins is edge lined and a much more generous yapp.
It’s subjective but I feel as though the CSB is a great modern language translation that still reads very close to more formal translations. I use the ESV/NASB as well and don’t feel like I’m missing something when reading the CSB like I do with the NIV.
