I absolutely love this Bible. It’s unique in what it covers and so it may not interest everyone. But if you want a piece of history alongside a gorgeously presented text of scripture, then this is your Bible.
The cover is durable, but genuine, leather, soft but sturdy. My favorite feature is a fairly large print on cream colored pages, not bright white. Easier on the eyes and has the feel of an ancient manuscript. I adore this. It makes it such a pleasure to open the Bible and to begin to read the text of scripture. Chapter numbers are in a burgundy/red color. Section headings are in a bold face font and so are Old Testament quotations in the New Testament.
The historical material shows how the church wrestled with understanding scripture and formulating important doctrines like those concerning the Trinity, the personality of the Holy Spirit, and the two natures of Jesus Christ. There are 25 biographies of key figures in the founding centuries of the church and, although they are short, usually one page, they are informative and whet the appetite for further research.
I think anyone who buys this will find it a pleasure both to read and consider the historical aspects as well.

Excellent quality! The thick goatskin leather has a nice flop but very sturdy. I’ve been impressed with the overall quality of all aspects of this CSB Study Bible. I have recommended it to several friends already.
