Nice bible, my wife got this for me as a gift. The only thing that I don’t like is that the line matching if off in many places. Not horrible, but not great either. Could just be my copy? Who knows.

I am so impressed with this Bible. Purchased to be used as a reader rather than for preaching. The lovely paper, large print in single column, and gorgeous cover with slight yapp all make this a great reader. My only recommendation would be wider/nicer ribbons.

This is a nice bible. The leather is soft, the print is clear, and the paper is plenty opaque. The drawbacks are relatively minor. The paper gets a little shiny in direct light, making it a little tougher to read. The corner work is a little sloppy in one corner. As is typical with Crossway, the ribbons are not very good at all.
The wide margins are great for note taking and the ink from my micron pens does not interfere with note taking on the other side of the page.
At the price I paid ($115) for a bible of this quality, I’m very happy. I’d gladly buy another in the event that I needed another good self-study/note taking bible. This was money well spent.

This Bible checks off all my boxes for the perfect layout: legible font, not running hideously into the gutter, wide margin, nice goatskin, nice paper, line matched, single column. All check. The reason I deducted one star is because of all the Bibles I own, this seems to have gilding that flakes and scratches easily. It could be my own error, but tonight I counted three scratches (my fault) and flaking of the gilding (Crossway’s fault). I don’t think I’ve ever had a Bible where the gilding flaked, even Bibles I’ve had for years. It made me sick to see it. I just love everything else about this Bible so I try to relieve my anxiety about the gilding and scratches. I mean, we buy these Bibles to use, after all, not to be unopened trophies.

This is the first premium bible that I have purchased and, after quite a bit of use, I would certainly purchase this bible again at this price point. To clarify, I think that you could probably find a higher quality bible (the heirloom or omega maybe) for the list of $200 but it is certainly worth the $125 on evangelicalbible.
This bible is a good size, maybe a bit big for my liking but not uncomfortable to use by any means. The font is a great size, the layout is wonderful, and the 36 GSM paper is fantastic to use with micron pens. The margins are also generous I have yet to run out of space for notes. One thing that I don’t like about “wide margin bibles” is the square look that many of them tend to take on and this is not the case with this bible at all; Crossway did a great job making this margin very usable. I am used to reading with paragraph format but I do with that this one was in verse format for preaching. The goatskin is beautiful and my bible had no noticeable flaws or defects, the gold lining on the cover liner and the pages are beautiful, and the spine is tastefully done (no over branding the “ESV” as in previous crossway editions), but the ribbons are laughable. I replaced my two black ribbons with three longer crimson ribbons and the aesthetic is absolutely breathtaking.
All of that being said, this bible will last a very long time and will serve any minister or layperson well. I am glad that this is my first premium bible because, being in the market for a second now, I can scarcely find one that I like better. This certainly is a bible that one would expect to hear the word of God preached from.

I’ve been preaching for nearly 40 years, and this Bible is by far the nicest one I’ve ever owned. It’s extremely well-made, and no doubt will last for the remainder of my ministry. I wanted something in which I could write notes in the margin, so I could pass it on as a keepsake to my son and grandson. The margins in this one are very spacious. The only downside to this “Preaching Bible” is the size of the text. 10 point text is fine for a church study using reading glasses, but it’s just too small for preaching from a pulpit. Even with reading glasses, the Bible is at a greater distance when being read from the pulpit than it is in a study or a more casual setting. I wish I’d given the size of the text more thought before purchasing.

Absolutely amazing quality bible, leather feels great.

This is a wonderful Bible. Easy read and the goatskin is extremely soft and enjoyable. The paper takes well to Microns and Sharpie Stylos, although I prefer the Microns. I do agree that crossway always loses on the ribbons. I have an ESV study Bible in Large print that has a ribbon twice the size of these. That’s my only complaint, for $99 this is an amazing Bible

I purchased this Bible before I purchased a Schuyler Quentel. I am quite happy with it and think that many people would find this Bible prefect for their use.
If you like the idea of a readers Bible but you want to be able to use your Bible in a bible study or during a church service you may just fall in love with this one. The single column layout is simply beautiful, especially the poetry. The 36 GSM paper and line matching does a better job at keeping the bleed through under control better than even the Quentel. The 10-point font is very easy on the eyes.
The goatskin is softer and more flexible than the Quentel and has a very satisfying feel and texture… I may like it more than the Quentel but I don’t know for sure yet.
Things I wish were better…
The ribbons work but are ugly and quite unworthy of this Bible… it’s bad enough I would rather do without them. When I received the Bible, one of the ribbons was stuck to the page it was tucked into with a light adhesive that pulled a little of the page off when I freed up the ribbon.
None of my complaints would cause me to be dissatisfied. I think this is a beautiful Bible and certainly one that I would recommend!
