Description
This special binding is published to mark the centenary of the Cambridge Cameo setting. The KJV Cameo Reference Bible was first printed in 1925 by the letterpress method using a hot metal typeface, Petit Medieval Clarendon. It was greatly admired for its beautiful design and compact size, producing a book small enough to carry. It has been printed continuously for 100 years. The centenary Cameo Bible, a facsimile of the original, has pronunciation marks, references, a concordance and maps. It is printed on India-style paper and bound in golden brown full-grain aniline calfskin, edge-lined with a full yapp. Every hide is tanned and dyed by a vegetable tanning process which preserves its natural characteristics. Over time, the leather reflects its environment and handling, developing a unique vintage patterning and feel, which blend with the dye and the grain of the hide. The Bible comes with a booklet commemorating the centenary.

I’ll start by saying that I’m new to the bible, so this is in no way a review of the translation.
The quality and finish of the bible is amazing, the pages feel amazing and have a slight cream color, and the print is nice and dark and legible.
Unfortunately I will say that the cover did have an issue, from the side and the top it is indeed a full yapp, but from the bottom there is a very considerable gap left. It’s like the text-block wasn’t centered correctly but it’s not something so extreme that I feel it needs to be returned. I guess these are some quirks that come with getting a hand crafted work. Although that being said and the way that Cambridge talks about the care they put into this edition, I’d hope that they would have taken the time to make sure every single bible of this limited edition would be perfect or as close to it as possible.
So while honestly quite disappointing to see when it’s supposed to be the very tip top of the line, apart from that one issue its amazing. So I believe docking just one star off an otherwise amazing edition isn’t too harsh.

Beautiful Bible. I have a couple cameos. This one is my favorite. The aniline calfskin feels very premium and is breaking in well. Love the color. Great service from EV bible. Thank you!

Very small Bible. Smaller than I thought. However, I wanted a carry Bible… Now I have it! It was a Fathers Day gift. Beautiful work! Top notch quality. Beautiful presentation. Boxing, packaging, ect. Mine had been opened. The seal broken, paper tore around it. A couple skiffs on cover. Not going to let tear detract from a wonderful gift tho… However, it will make me rethink this vender in the future.
