   I don’t have the one in black goatskin, mines a navy blue goatskin. That said, it is holding up very well in the almost 4 years i have had it. Only thing I think they should change is bringing back the thicker paper for people like me who enjoy highlighting and underlining without show through on the back of the page. Sometimes if you use a particularly wet highlighter it can make the text a little hard to read. If you are going to use pens on this paper, make sure you get a rollerball or very dark ball point because gel pens will take SEVERAL minutes to dry. If you are just looking for a well built and portable bible, then this is what you are looking for.

   Just received this for Christmas and it’s absolutely beautiful – I started a Bible reading plan with it on Christmas Day and I’m already days ahead of myself because it’s so beautiful to hold that I can’t help myself! The goatskin is pebbly, soft, smells gorgeous. It’s a perfect size to just sit in your hand. It doesn’t yet lay flat in Genesis or Revelation, but it will with use. The pages are opaque and buttery-soft. The only things that could make this Bible any better is three ribbons instead of two and perhaps a black-letter edition, but it’s phenomenal as it is. Thank you!

   In my opinion, this is the perfect bible. The black goatskin and red calfskin liner are premium in every way, yet understated and traditional. I didn’t want a flashy or fancy bible, I just wanted a quality, non-mass produced bible that wasn’t made utilizing questionable-at-best labor practices in China. The paper is magnificent and the print is perfect. Small enough to make this bible a breeze to take anywhere you go, but easy enough to read in any reasonable situation.

   My old bible was basically a phonebook and being able to hold this easily in one hand during bible study is such a treat. The print in the PSQ is technically smaller than my old huge one but the quality of the print makes it easier to read, probably because of the sloppiness and over-bolding of the print in my previous bible. Knowing this bible was hand-made by old world artisans and the care and design that went into it by the wonderful Christians at Schuyler only adds to the reverence and respect that God’s Word deserves.

   No, you don’t NEED a premium bible, but if we’re in our bibles every day as we should be then how can you justify your $1,000 iPhone, $1,000 big screen TV and not be willing to spend a little more for these wonderful words to be inside of a book that your kids and grandkids will be able to read from someday? The binding not falling apart or the cheap cover flaking off in 2-3 years like so many of my previous bibles will be a well-received adjustment. Well done Schuyler.

   I just received my black goatskin NIV PSQ and it is absolutely a work of art! Being a Bible rebinder myself I can appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into making one of these stunning Bibles! The red under black is gorgeous. The red lettering is a dark crimson red and just stands out when you see it. Most red letter Bibles are pretty much “pink” letter, but not this one. It is on the verge of almost maroon. Although not a full yapp, it seems to have more of a yapp than my NASB British Tan PSQ that I got a couple years ago. Over all in my humble opinion Schuyler has the best craftsmanship and the most beautiful Bibles on the market

   This bible is absolutely gorgeous, the perfect size for traveling or taking with me in my car. Craftsmanship is excellent. Schuyler has a fan and customer for life!
