This is actually not the Bible I ordered; I apparently got the last full yap. But it is stunning; most interesting black pearl dying. I’ve bought several Schuyler Bibles before so its beauty and rock-solid quality is no surprise. I’ve never read the NLT before and bought this specifically for that reason. Now, looking forward to learning a new translation with a beautiful new Bible!

The cover had some random marks which is to be expected, only issue i found on my copy was the presentation page had what looked to be a fingerprint wrinkle possibly from the factory? QC could be better as the right bottom corner was off, otherwise i love the text block and have no issues with the binding or perimeter bubbling which i had in other Schuyler examples.

It’s been a long time since I have bought a calfskin Bible. Goatskin has been my choice for many years. Mainly because many manufacturers haven’t used quality calfskin. I was a little nervous when buying this Black Pearl Calfskin, but I am totally blown away at the beauty and quality of this Bible. The grain really sets off the black pearl color. It is more of a Charcoal Gray which I was hoping for and with the marbling, it is a sight to behold. The suppleness is even better than my other Schuyler goatskin NLT. This is the best Bible in my collection.
Of course, the text block, gilding, and every other part of the Bible is the normal Schuyler Quality. You cannot go wrong with this Calfskin NLT Bible.
