When preparing this review, I compared this edition (TBS Classic Reference with Zipper) to the TBS Windsor Text Bible with Zipper, another excellent product by TBS.
Cover and Binding
The quality of the leather is identical to the Windsor: Somewhat firm which is necessary for a daily carry bible, and I expect it will soften over time like the Windsor has. The text block is snug against the spine, leaving very little room for the zipper to fit behind. This caused the tail band to be deformed slightly during the first opening. I didn’t encounter this problem with the Windsor, and they appear to be constructed similarly, so this may be an isolated instance.
Paper and Print
TBS does an excellent job choosing their paper. It is thin, but opaque and has no shine. The font is a much older style than the Windsor or Westminster, but it is very legible and the print is consistent throughout. The references are small and do contain some slight printing imperfections, but they are still discernible and this is likely inherited from the Cambridge text it draws from.
This bible is a sturdy, everyday, workhorse. I selected it to be a daily carry that was useful, readable and tough. For the price, this is an exceptional product.

I recently bought the RL Allan LP Soveriegn, it is an amazing bible but I needed something smaller to take to Church. I love this little bible the calfskin is think and feels nice in the hand. The bible doesn’t lay completely flat however since it’s so small and you can hold it with one had this doesn’t bother me.
The zipper for added protection of the text makes me feel comfortable reading around my 5 wonderful children (7 and under). For the price you pay it is more than worth it, in my opinion this is an $80.00 bible for $40.00. I recently switched to the KJV and the bible word list in the back has been a great help.
Once again, the service at EV bible was amazing, yet another purchase I am very pleased with. God bless EV bible!
