I am an old 77 yr. Old Baptist preacher. I bought this Bible on June 1st of 2010. For 1st . 5 yrs. studied and preached from it 6 times a week. Last 9 yrs. Preached from it 9 times a week. After several years I put gorilla duct tape on inside covers. I am ordering this Bible again tonight or tomorrow. This is the very very by far the best Bible I have ever owned. I have 12 Bibles I have put on the shelf, worn out. I love the wide margin. Plenty room for my commentary. God bless and thanks for such a wonderful quality Bible.

The Cambridge Concord Wide Margin, Black Goatskin Bible is an excellent Wide Margin Bible. IMO, it’s the best KJV Wide Margin Bible.

  3. Justin Robinson

    I own this.
    This is an excellent bible.
    It’s heavy and lays flat.
The margin space for notes is excellent. There is room on top, bottom, outside margin and inside. The gsm feels good and the paper itself is quite nice.
It seems they went for simplicity on aesthetics. It’s very minimalistic and that’s fine by me. While some may try to wow you with aesthetics and then not deliver in other areas, this one delivers where it counts.
The only improvements I can see to be made would be to add red letter edition as an option and replace the synthetic liner with something nice. I have seen many reviews where the liner ends up falling apart. Mind you it’s usually in bibles that have heavy use (as a bible should) over many years. I do feel this could be avoided by using a better liner. Other than these 2 things, I find this bible perfect. I am glad I purchased it. I am a huge fan of the Concord text so it’s a big win for me. Knowing what I know about other companies and wide margins, if I was using a different translation I would still go Cambridge and get the Aquila.

I Got This Bible a Few days Ago and I’m Very Happy: At This Bible The paper is amazing and the Gold gilding red under Gold wow. And the Goatskin wow. I have a few problems tho I wish the paper was 42 gsm rather than 38. But still it does the Job. Allan Tho has A better paper than Cambridge but I will chose the Cambridge as the Lamborghini of the wide margin bibles and the Allan 5WM as the Rolls Royce of the wide margin bibles. But I will Use these Bible As my main bible and the Allan 5WM Goatskin as a special bible.

A beautiful Bible for desk or table top writing. Too heavy to hold ; but that’s because there is SUCH A WEALTH OF INFORMATION for study. Goatskin is supple, paper is wonderful for notes. I also have The Concord Red Letter indexed ; but this has so much to offer for notes. I just wish it were published in a red letter as this would save some highlighting. I would buy it again if it were red letter. Kudos to Fed Ex as it was delivered exactly when they expected.

Cons 1st print a little small and paper not as thick as expected be still good quality – compared to my Common Mans ref bible 2nd ed. wide margin paper quality is the same 28gsm, cover and binding the same ,price $100 cf $185 Cambridge has good lined paper in back with nice concordance ,goat skin cover very good ,but I really bought it to get a wide margin bible with thicker paper ,but it was really not much different than what I have –the print on the Ruckman ref bible and the Common Mans ref bible are more comfortable to read ,but life and learn ,I will still use it and be thankful

Excellent material, craftsmanship, and wonderful attention to detail. The Bible itself isn’t bad either. … Seriously, the Bible is superb and the quick delivery with the imprinting was very much appreciated. I will purchase again when needed.

I purchased this bible to record and take notes in. After receiving the bible I was hesitant to take notes in it. It is very soft and lays flat. It is easy to read from and the pages are nice and thick. I will take notes in it and keep them for my children when they get older. Even though I was hesitant at first. Cambridge did a great job with this one as you get an ample amount of space to take notes in the margins.

Hands down my favorite Bible out of all that I own and all that I have seen. All the reviews are 5-star for a reason, it deserves the highest ratings possible. In fact, I think it deserves more accolades, which is why I am typing this review. I own more than one copy, and have ordered and held other copies for friends who became admirers of my personal copy. The goatskin leather is exceptional, and each copy I have held has its own unique feel, which I like. My personal copy has an exceptionally soft and supple cover that almost melts in your hands. Every time I pick it up I get delayed for a few seconds while I just hold and adore it. The print is beautiful and readable. Good lined pages in the back, as well as alphabetized, blank pages in the back for notes. Decent concordance in the back, but not thorough in order to keep the thickness down. The wide margin is perfect on all sides. The paper is smooth and beautiful. I have had my copy for several years with heavy use–I take a lot of notes in the margins, and the other day a friend mistook the Bible as new. Granted, I take good care of it, but it has held up very well. Any negatives about the Bible are so small that they are swallowed up by its greatness. I hope Cambridge never stops making it. By the way, Evangelical Bible deserves 5 STARS also for top notch service and selection! Keep up the good work.

The text is so clear and easy to read, the art gilt edge pages are beautiful, and the leather smells so good. And it is the AUTHORized KING James(Jacob/Israel) Holy Bible. “And being made perfect, he became the AUTHOR of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;” (Hebrews 5:9). “Looking unto Jesus the AUTHOR and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2) ” Where the word of a KING is, there is power…”(Ecclesiastes 8:4). ” And he said, Thy name shall be called no more JACOB, but ISRAEL: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.” (Genesis 32:28) “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. ‘…Even so, come, Lord Jesus…” (2 Corinthians 13:14; Revelation 22:20)

This is the best Bible on the market in my opinion! Have had mine for three years, and with heavy, careful use its still like new! I admire it every time I hold it. It wears very nicely. To me it has the best combination of futures of any Bible I’ve ever held. I hope Cambridge never stops making it and I appreciate Evangeicalbible for making it available at such unbeatable prices!

Excellent Bible to write notes in but too nice to add notes to. Will probably get the cheaper black split skin one to write in. Has nice dark print similar to a discontinued Oxford edition. Excellent quality. Also a big heavy Bible because of the heavier paper.

So far, there are few Bibles that, after much handling and reading, still make me genuinely excited. The Cambridge WM makes this list. In sum, this is due to the beautiful interior layout that is also very useful for the note taker. The cover materials and details are fantastic, and this Bible would make a fine lifelong companion for the reader of God’s Word. And this is probably the limpest Bible I’ve seen! I am a Cambridge man and was looking for a wide-margin edition so i could transfer all the notes from my old split calfskin Cambridge Concord to this Bible. I’m glad I got the goatskin, because it is stunning and so very well made. Very sturdy feeling. My old Cambridge was starting to separate in the binding and the pages have been loose for sever years (bought it for $94 in 1998.) One thing I noticed when comparing this Concord wide-margin with the standard Concord Reference is the type is a bit smaller and not as easy to read as the standard Concord, even though the dimensions of the book are a bit larger. That is only slightly disappointing to me since my eyesight is not as good as it once was. Other than not having the red letters (which I prefer) the whole of this Bible far outweighs the smallish font. It is still much darker and more readable than the Schuyler Classic Reference I reviewed here. All in all, this Cambridge wide-margin will allow me to add all of the notes and references I want so that I can pass this Bible on to my children when I pass. I was looking at my father’s Bible just a few days ago, and it is full of his personal notes and references, but his was not a wide-margin edition, so they are difficult to read. Comparing this to the Allan Oxford Clarendon Wide Margin Italian Calfskin for sale on here (approximately the same price) I definitely recommend the Cambridge simply for the higher quality goat skin cover.

Yesterday I received my Wide-Margin KJV goatskin………EXCELLENT!! The readability is just superb!!…..and, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to bring myself to write in this bible!…..THANK YOU!!!

  16. Jimmy Lang

The goatskin binding on this bible is superb. I have all the cambridge KJV’s in goatskin and they are all excellent including this one. What sets this Bible apart is the Bible paper that is used instead of India paper. It is quite a bit thicker, yet not as thick as regular book paper. When setting this bible beside others that have the same amount of pages this one is much thicker. Placing it beside a Life application bible that has 2400 pages and this one has 1500 and the Life application is barely thicker. However, it is a thick bible so you must consider that if you desire to carry it everywhere. I am so impressed with the bible paper that I bought a second one just to have in reserve. I wish this paper was used on all Bibles.
