Description

The ESV Quentel is the best all around classic reference ESV on the market.  With a clear, bold 10 point Milo font, opaque paper, references, extensive Schuyler maps – this Bible is a joy to read! The Typesetting design is from Denmark. The printing and binding is done in the Netherlands by Jongbloed.

Aniline Calfskin reveals the life of the animal in the natural grain, exhibiting pores, healed scars, insect bites, scratches, fat wrinkles, etc. Expect perfect imperfections! This beautiful leather will show marks and stains over time and develop a rich patina with use.

This is my first Quentel after purchasing 11 other Schuyler editions in the last year. I was concerned that it might be too big (I am a smaller woman.) I just had to pull the trigger to complete my collection and my thought was that it might be my main Bible when my eyesight starts to fail when I get older. I decided on this colourway because I love the Aniline and did not yet have a Siena. I can’t quite bring myself to buy a Siena with the blue accents so decided on this one instead. I LOVE it! Aniline leather is the VERY BEST as far as I’m concerned. The Bible is not too big or heavy. It hits me as being perfect for a man’s Bible, but it will still work fine for me.:) Thank you Schuyler!!

Siena calfkin on this new edition of the ESV Q is rustic and stunning at the same time!
Looks great with my Tuscany NASB Q.
Like the Tuscany, the Siena is sturdy without too much flopp when opened so that it holds in hand very well.
The new Q is noticeably thinner thanks to the 10 pt font, and change in text block, including narrower outer margins vs the previous regular sized ESV Q.
The drop caps are lovely, but the ESV, being a modern translation, might have been better served with a more modern drop cap rather than ornate.
Still very readable and now more portable than before. Having this new size is much appreciated.

Beautiful bible, my favorite color is orange so this was right up my alley, I like this a lot better than an explicitly bright orange bible, more of a subtle orange color. People have warned about this leather having marks on it and mine has some black spots but they are tiny and barely noticeable at all. The corners on this bible are done perfectly, my only complaint is that there is small missing portion of the gilt line but this is something I could probably fix myself. I like the choice to make the font slightly smaller, it’s still extremely readable and this way even with the apocrypha it’s not overly thick.
