I’ve had this Bible for almost a month, and I couldn’t be prouder of this purchase. I researched for weeks and weeks, looking at Schuyler, Allan, and Cambridge. All of these publishers have great products and none of them would give you a bad impression. For me it was the fit and finish with the Schuyler that set them apart on the perimeter stitching. Having that (Cambridge has this too) secured my choice knowing that the inner liner, typically glued only on other Bible makers, wouldn’t separate. However, I also wanted a Bible that I could write extensive notes, have plenty of room to do so and that would last for decades.
This Schuyler Bible is perfect for the reasons I needed it to be. It has thicker 40 gsm paper, perfect for writing and highlighting. I use Pilot 0.38mm gel pens in black, red, green, and blue. I also use the Zebrite double end highlighters, and this thicker Bible paper tolerates them both just fine. I researched for weeks trying to find something that wouldn’t bleed through on the 28gsm paper which is what Schuyler uses on their other Bible’s outside of the wide margin quentel.
So, if you are looking for something that you can write in, extensive space for study notes, and don’t have to worry about bleed-through, then this is the Bible for you. The leather is so great, the slate grey isn’t as dark as what the picture shows online, but it’s beautiful, and I can’t get over the smell of the French paper. Keep in mind, this Bible is big. I wouldn’t carry it around as my every-day-Bible; part of the reason I am now in the market for a PSQ (personal size quentel).

Super happy customer. Thanks again Evangelical Bible!

I just received this bible as a gift for my sister. It is gorgeous!! It is very well executed, and I would love if Schuyler would put out more red under silver editions! I am more of a personal size bible person, but I fell in love with the slate colours and thought I would take the jump. It is purely gorgeous!!! On my copy the goatskin feels a bit thinner perhaps than the dark purple I have in the PSQ ESV. Perhaps that is just due to the sheer size of this Bible. To my hands, maybe a thicker calfskin would fit better a Bible of this size and weight. It is gorgeous nonetheless and I would most certainly purchase a PSQ or Treveris in this colourway if it became available. God Bless you all at Evangelicalbible.com!! Beth has been so very helpful and borne with me through my many questions. If you are considering a premium bible from these folks, just do it!! You couldn’t spend better money in my opinion.

This was my first premium Bible purchase, and now it’s the standard by which I’ll measure the rest. Schuyler is committed to quality in typesetting, printing, and binding, and their commitment is evident in the NASB wide-margin Quentel.

This is a bible I will pass on to my daughter, so I’ve started writing prayers and notes for her on the lined paper in the back.

The 40GSM paper, 10pt font, and wide margins make it large and heavy, so don’t buy this for a carry Bible unless you’re really dedicated. I use it for nightly devotions and the large font and bold print is perfect for end-of-day tired eyes.

The pages turn easily and take writing quite nicely. The goatskin cover feels like great durable leather, and the liner is so soft.

    Thank you, Schuyler!

To put it plainly, this is the best Bible that’s available. This is on another level of quality that simply doesn’t exist outside of the custom, hand-made bibles that you find like Post Tenebras Lux. And to get one like that, you have to get a premium bible, then pay hundres of dollars to have it rebound. In this Schuyler, the’ve done that for you. If you’re even comparing this to The Zondervan Single-Column Reference Premier Collection, the MacArthur Premier Collection, Clarion Calf Skin, or even the ESV Heirloom Legacy….let me save you some time. This Quentel wide margin is on a whole different level of quality.

I initially got this because I had bought a PSQ and wanted one that I could take more notes in. This, like all Quentels, gave me that. The font is very easy to read, the in text references are clear, the paper is the best quality I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with, and the leather and binding are just exquisite!!!

There is one major downside….now that I have a PSQ and Wide Margin Quentel in slate…I think I NEED a regular Quentel in different colors of every translation that Schuyler produces!!! I’d rather have one of these on my shelf than 10 of the other premium editions I own by other publishers! I’m just blown away.

If you’re even considering this, look no further. This printing of God’s glorious Word is a must have!

I LOVE THIS BIBLE! Because I have the KJV Canterbury in this slate color, I was a little surprised by how light my new NASB is; the KJV is much darker, almost a brownish-gray color. They are both beautiful but this one is especially nice because of the striations in the leather, which adds more character.
The gray/red combination is exquisite and the silver over red… I have never seen a more beautiful bible. I like the format of the NASB, but prefer the single-column format for the Psalms as was done in the Canterbury. The NASB maintains the two-column format throughout the bible. The Maps! If I could include a “mind-blown” memoji here I would. And the paper! It’s so thick compared to what I’m used to. I was thumbing through my old Keyword Study Bible a few days ago and was blown away by how thin that paper is compared to this 40 GSM paper. The quality of this bible is unsurpassed… I cannot say enough good things about the Schuyler bibles. I bought a Cambridge but the font was WAY too small for me. I love the font that Schuyler uses. This is my first NASB so I’m super-excited to dive in!

This is my first Schuyler Bible. This is the finest Bible I’ve ever had. The craftsmanship is exquisite and shows itself over every aspect of the Bible. The leather cover is beautiful in the slate gray, a very unique color with an attractive grain. The goatskin liner gives the cover a wonderfully supple feel, and the red color is tasteful not brash. The three crimson ribbons are of the finest grade.
The text layout is not one I’m familiar with. Having the cross-references at the bottom with the red numbers is genius. It makes it so much easier for me to read. The concordance typeface on the other hand is absolutely minuscule, but I can still read it well enough.
The wide margin and the thirty pages of spilt ruled paper will make note taking most enjoyable, that is if I ever find the courage to actually write in such a beautiful Bible. Even the maps are the finest I’ve ever seen.
I’m obviously knocked out by my first Schuyler Bible. The high standard of craftsmanship justifies the price.

The word of God, done right.

From the moment you open the box, your senses are activated. The smell of fresh leather as you pull off the yapp sleeves; the feeling of textured goatskin under your fingers; the visual wonder as light gleans the art gilting. And this is all before you even open your new sword and absorb the extremely comfortable typesetting on silky 40gsm paper.

Plenty of double-column note paper in the back, lots of stock card, and the welcome addition of presentation and family milestone pages in the front.

Truly truly I say to you, a Schuyler wide margin bible will not disappoint.

All I can say is Wow!! This WM exceeds my expectations. I ordered it in this beautiful slate, red under silver page edges, and it is spectacular. Heavy- and fat! 40 gsm, several beautiful presentation pages that are classy and reminiscent of the original NAS Q ornate presentation pages- bringing you back to an era long ago..and best- is, finally stock card writing paper! This WM is a hit and will serve me well in study..

I’ve been ogling Schuyler bibles for years but have been unable to purchase one until now, and there are no words to describe how happy I was that Schuyler came out with the wide margin NASB (1995) before Lockman published its changes. I love that this is a black letter edition and that the references are at the bottom (out of the way), and not cluttering the page. If the footnotes were at the bottom as well (not in the right column) and the supercripts for the references were grey or red, there would be absolutely no way you could improve the layout, typesetting, or text block. The Quentel is a masterpiece.

The leather cover is a gorgeous soft pebble grain, floppy without being sloppy, and has some heft to it. I was afraid the color would be too light and that it would eventually “show the dirt” from handling, but I am confident after having it in my hands that the slate is dark enough to not have that problem. The red liner and text are also luciously darker than they appear on screen (but that may be my monitor).

The hinges appears quite stiff, but that was probably engineered that way since this is quite a LARGE bible. The dimensions Evangelical Bible gives makes this look like it is slightly smaller than a Thompson’s Chain Reference Bible, but it is not. The dimensions of the text block alone is 7 x 9.4 x 2.

This Bible is absolutely a win- there is no way anyone sitting on the fence can make the wrong decision if they choose this!!!

Also I want to add, that Evangelical Bible has been amazing with their customer service. I had originally ordered the marbled cover in January when I pre-ordered, but changed my mind at the last minute (two weeks ago) to the slate. Customer service didn’t bat an eye at the request, and they still did the imprinting correct in spite of the last minute change.

    THANK YOU EVANGELICAL BIBLE!

This is my fourth Schuyler Bible and though I’ve only had it for a few hours it is by far my absolute favorite. The leather is beautiful and has a wonderful smell and grain. The paper is the best I’ve seen in a NASB since the famous 2002 SCR. The type is perfect. There is nothing I dislike about it. It is a bigger Bible but not something I feel will be an issue if you decide to take it to church. You will not be disappointed if you choose to purchase one.

I have only had it for a few hours now(as of this writing) After skimming through for an hour or so then spending some time in Genesis I love this Bible. The feel of the leather, the smell, the quality, the type setting, everything. This is my first premium Bible and I am not disappointed. I’ll edit as time goes on but as of the first few hours with it I am a happy customer.
