Description
This is an entirely new setting of the Bible, published to coincide with the 400th anniversary of the King James Version but intended to become a staple of the Cambridge list for many years to come as a new and distinctive format, across a range of versions. This edition has been carefully designed for the modern era to meet an increasing demand for a more accessible format and comfortable reading size.
It is typeset in Lexicon No.1, a digital font designed for easy reading and with many similar characteristics to traditional hot-metal Bible typefaces, thus marrying the best of the old and the new. The print is black-letter throughout and the text is presented in paragraph (rather than traditional chapter and verse) style and in a single-column format. The notes and cross-references have been relocated to the outer margin, leaving the text relatively free and unencumbered.
These Bibles include 15 color maps and–instead of a conventional concordance and dictionary–a Reader’s Companion which offers the key elements of those features in one place. It is printed on India paper with art-gilt edges and is bound with three ribbons in dark green buffalo calfskin leather, edge-lined and with full leather linings for extra suppleness and flexibility.

The bible is not bad, a few places in the paper where you can see white in the gilding that wont go away and the edge of the book block on the bottom are not tight against the cover of the book. Dont know if that is a manufacturer error or if its normal because the top side is tight. I dont think cambridge should charge so much for their bibes because they aren’t worth what they charge especially not at the non sale price of $330. I paid $100 for my first cambridge clarion in goatskin and i though that was fair, but it was in used like new condition. The ribbons are not that great, not that i use them anyway, 28gsm paper is not all that great for the price, but i does the job. Also im not sure where it is said this is a buffalo calfskin? This only says calfskin on the box and the bible

Amazing leather. Nicest leather I’ve ever held in my hands and I have Allan’s, Schuyler’s and other Cambridge’s. Unbelievable feel. Smooth like calfskin, but still pebly like goatskin. Cambridge nailed the green this time. The dark green cover goes beautifully with the lighter, natural looking ribbons and head/tail bands. The cover is like a forest green and the ribbons look like blades of grass. Beautiful. This is much more beautiful than the green Cameo that has a brighter green cover and very bright, unnatural looking ribbons. You just want to bring this Clarion with you in the woods and read under some trees.
There’s plenty of info out there about the Clarion text block, so only going to talk about this new cover.
