Description

The Cambridge NASB Topaz Bible echoes the beauty and clarity of the classic Cambridge Bible settings of centuries past. Traditionally named after a precious stone, the Topaz answers the call for a large high-quality reference Bible in modern English. The Bible uses the 2020 NASB text. Designed for private study and public devotions, the text is set in a comfortable reading size. The words of Christ are in red, as are chapter and verse numbers, to aid navigation. The Bible includes a concordance, maps and a family record section. It also has a presentation page, making it ideal for gifting. It is carefully printed on the finest India-style paper and bound in dark brown calf split leather.

1 review for Cambridge NASB Topaz Reference Edition, Dark Brown Calfsplit Leather Bible

If, like me, you are a Bible lover who prefers a verse-by-verse layout over a paragraph-oriented format, then the Cambridge Topaz may very well be the perfect Bible for you. The Topaz has it all: large, clear easy-to-read font, silky smooth paper, words of Christ in a pleasing dark red, and the kind of quality one can expect from Cambridge, 2KDenmark, and Royal Jongbloed.

I won’t go into detail about the pros and cons of the NASB2020 version, or the various features of the Cambridge Topaz. Other reviewers have already done that. All I want to say is that the NASB2020 Topaz is a delight to hold and to read. The brown calf split leather binding is exquisite, and in my recent review on evangelicalbible.com of the new Cambridge CSB Diadem, I mentioned how wonderful the calf split leather feels in the hand, how it softens with use and yet remains firm. This is a particularly desirable characteristic of this leather for me because I am one of those who prefers holding an open Bible in one hand. The calf split leather Topaz lies open completely flat in one hand without any floppiness at all. This is in marked contrast to my ESV Topaz in blue goatskin which feels very floppy when held in one hand, and one almost gets the sense that it will easily slip out of your grasp and fall to the floor!

Unlike many other Bibles, the NASB2020 Topaz does not include a concordance, but instead features a 133-page Topical Index. I find this index to be a very thorough and welcome addition for Bible study. The Cambridge Topaz is a remarkable Bible for both preaching and teaching. I highly recommend it.
