The Schuyler Personal Size Quentel ESV is based on the Quentel Series, which is now available in the ESV, NKJV, NASB, NIV, CSB, and RSV. This edition is designed to be a ‘personal size’ companion to the regular sized Quentel since it is identical in pagination. See a PDF sample (open at 100% or “actual size”).

This really is a perfect personal sized Bible. Unfortunately the 8.5 font is too small for me. I tried to make it work, but at least now I know. Anything below 10 is just too small for me. It’s still a five star Bible because font size is my issue not the Bible’s.

I have owned a PSQ for about four years now, and while I really want to love it, the main issue I have is that the font is very faint / light (as opposed to a more dense / bold font). This makes the overall appearance of text block seem washed out. When I pick up an ESV Pitt Minion, or an older Cambridge KJV, the contrast is stark.
There are many design choices I love about the Quentel: the well formatted poetry sections, the footnoted cross references, the use of red accents. But the font choice, or more specifically the weight of the font, is why I keep setting this Bible to one side instead of using it.

The Bible I’ve been looking for! Portable size (I was worried it might be too thick but it’s just right!). Text is easy on the eyes and very readable. All the typical fit and finish we’ve come to expect from Schuyler. I used to have an Allan ESV Compact Bible, but after the ESV text was updated I went looking for something similar. I eventually decided on the Pitt Minion due to its size and cross-reference feature, but I have to say… the Schuyler PSQ blows it out of the water! You guys hit a homerun with the PSQ and I can finally say the search for my favorite Bible is over! Keep up the great work!

I was first kind of skeptical to getting a Bible of this value and now I understand why! The quality is definitely premium and is just delightful to hold. I treasure God’s Word even more now and having a Bible like this is definitely recommended if you have the means to do so. The paper and print quality is immaculate. The goatskin leather is really nice , don’t shortcut yourself with getting a cheap Bible this one can be a heirloom and one you hand down to your next generation. I’ve had it for 3 weeks and have been picking it up daily and it’s great I want to buy one for my wife next year because now she wants one since she saw my Bible lol

This is the best bible you can get at this price point. It has great cover, paper, design, print, and is of highest quality. The typography and paper are especially amazing. Leather is superb.
The only drawback in my copy was spotty art gilding on one side. However, this is a minor problem and even with it, this Bible is way better than everything else I’ve seen. This is fine taking into account the gilt is hand-made.

Not much I can say that others haven’t already. This is a beautiful Bible. The gold edge around the red calfskin liner looks great. It feels good in hand. The font is very readable. And it is a great addition to the brown marble goatskin NASB PSQ. Now that I think about it… I should probably add a NKJV PSQ to the group! These bibles are beautifully constructed and pleasing to read. What else can I say?

Can’t say more than what’s already been said about the Bible itself. I have two versions of this one and they are perfect. This review is more about the service. I have the green goatskin PSQ from a few printings ago. Same format and quality is great. Anything done by Royal Jongbloed is Fantastic. For about 8.2 point font it is a nice size for a luxury compact. I have a 6 point font pocket bible and compared to that the Personal Size Quentel is pure luxury.

Oh! My long quest for the right bible is finally over! I am quite joy and satisfied with this such beautiful Bible! I have looking for right bible, this bible is the fourth one. I was near to the end of the rope until I come to this Bible. And this will be finalize. This Bible has meet all my wants: goatskin bible, right font, right size. The font is just right for the size of the Bible. Some large size bibles, most goatskins are, come with inappropriate font. Even though the font in this bible is pretty small but it is readable because of the appropriate size. The size and weight is just right. I often pick up the Bible to look up verses when I study theology but I got tired lately of pick up my weighty bible so I realize that I need right weight of the Bible for my own studying. But at same time I will like to have one that has really nice cover. Once again this Bible has right weight along with really really nice goatskin cover. Such Bible is quite effective for studying. I’ve had my PSQ for almost a year now and it is the perfect small Bible. I am a seminary student serving in the US Military and I travel A LOT! This Bible is an absolute joy to travel with and read. So much so that it has become my go to Sunday Bible as it drapes over one thigh perfectly while a moleskin is furiously scribbled on on the other thigh. The pages are perfect the leather is perfect the font is perfect. My Bible is furiously highlighted with Mr. Pen Bible Safe Highlighters and Jetstream Uni .38 pens. As long as I am not pressing like a madman the 28gsm paper does just fine. There is a little see through but not enough to bother me. The reason it got 4 stars is because there are many (10+) very small imperfections in the text. Most if not all of them are imperfections with the ink. A letter or number here or there doesn’t seem to have been pressed firmly into the paper by the printer and is faded. Or there is a small random ink line (an inch or less) somewhere on the page that seems to have been a mishap by the printer. The worst of these is Romans 10:17 which in my Bible is missing the “1” altogether and appears as Romans 10:7…. This is laughable and thankfully I realized it before I preached Romans 10 and added my own “1”. None of my griping affects the readability of this Bible but for a nearly $200 price tag you’d expect minimal defects. All this to say I am still a Schuyler fan and plan on purchasing more in the future for myself and as gifts. I hope that this one was just a sloppy copy as most reviews say nothing of this sort. God bless Evangelical Bible and their mission to supply the world with beautiful Bibles. The Sword ought to have a beautiful sheath!

Received my Personal Size Quentel in black goatskin yesterday. Since I have the full size, this is the perfect little brother. It will be my carry and church bible. The goatskin cover is beautiful, the font is quite easy to read. The line matching, binding, leather lining, paper quality are typical Schuyler excellence. It will not be my last Schuyler bible. I also received a black goatskin Schuyler journal that is the same size as the personal size Quentel. It will fit in the bible case and be the perfect companion for notes and thoughts.

This Bible is beautiful. From the leather, paper, text layout, size, text size, it is a great Bible and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. If you’re looking at this Bible and are having a hard time justifying the price tag, it’s definitley worth it.

I just received my New ESV psq and this black & red color combination is out of this world it’s better than what I seen in my dreams. The LEATHER smell is my favorite I lay the bible by my pillow so I can smell it as I being protected by God’s Word throughout the night. This bible cover, soft creamy pages is worth every penny. So excited to say up for my next one in a few years.

I received my new bible earlier this week. It is gorgeous. I love the soft flexible cover. I love the new leather smell. I love the red & black color scheme. It is everything I hoped it would be. This was an exchange for a NKJV PSQ that I wasn’t happy with. This ESV copy is much nicer than the NKJV that I returned.

This is a truly beautiful bible. The color scheme on the psq is the best I’ve seen so far from Schuyler. This bible is highly readable for as small as it is, I actually prefer the psq to the regular size quentel because of the fact that the regular size one is just too heavy to lug around to church. The Goatskin on this bible is soft and supple as usual. I’m hoping that Schuyler will make the ESV THINLINE Quentel as they did with the NASB (especially with this color scheme) that would truly be my dream bible personally. But all in all this bible is truly excellent for portability, craftsmanship, and readability I’d give it a 9.5 out of 10.
