Just received the new NLT PSQ, Zippered Chestnut Calfskin, and WOW. This now is my third Schuyler, but first non-edge lined, paste down, and I honestly am blown away by I received. I have the NLT Quentel in goatskin, and I knew from my Calfskin Treveris that the leather on this PSQ would be thicker. Because of that and the paste down construction, I was expecting a fairly firm leather over board construction for the front and back cover, but was pleasantly surprised with the amount of flex that the cover has. Although not “floppy” like and edge lined, it definitely isn’t rigid like a hardback or cloth over board book. It has just the right amount of flex when opened and held in the hand. I also love the fact it lays flat right of the box, and is extremely easy to read. Size wise, it is just slightly shorter and thicker than the Treveris which makes it the perfect size to manage in hand and to carry in a backpack or bag. With the zipper, the gilt is protected from scratches and the pages are protected from creasing or damage.
The fact that this NLT PSQ uses the same pagination as my full sized Quentel, it makes an excellent travel companion to my full sized Quentel that can now rest safely on my desk!
Schuyler has hit a home run with their Zippered Edition PSQ’s. Excellent Job!!

Wow. Everything about this Bible is excellent. The gold cross on the cover and gold imprinting on the spine looks clean with the chestnut leather. Gold and chestnut is such a classy mix. The leather looks, feels and smells premium. One of my favorite things about the zippered PSQ’s is that they open flat regardless of where you’re at in the book. Genesis 1:1 ? The book opens flat due to the construction. I use the NLT for work purposes, so I always have a copy with me at all times. It is nice to have a zippered book to throw in my backpack, or toss around without worrying. These are built really well, like a tank. My second favorite part of this NLT is that it has the full concordance featured in the full size NLT Quentel. I use this all the time. A wonderful book, highly recommend.
I agree with another reviewer. I’d love a second bookmark or the option to purchase one (maybe $5 up charge for one). They would likely sell a lot of leather bookmarks and it’s a good use of the leftover leather.

The chesnut zippered NLT is spectacular. Just that perfect sweet spot for size/portability. I’ve only had mine 24 hours now, but the letting and extra boldness of the text really does make it more readable. It’s a home run. Stunning to look at. Lays flat. Feels great in hand.
The only improvement or option I would like is maybe a second leather bookmark. Perhaps the option to purchase one on the website?
