KJV Concord Reference Black Calf Split
The Cambridge Concord Edition has been a favorite presentation of the KJV for over half a century. The Bible text is supported by a variety of study aids: a concordance, a dictionary, a glossary, and 15 color maps. There is also a family record section and a presentation page. The new Bibles are bound in black calf-split leather, a fresh binding style for this edition. Calf-split leather is a superior grade to French Morocco leather, tanned to approach the quality and feel of full-grain calfskin. Both Bibles have two ribbon markers, and one comes with a thumb index, a rare feature in Bible publishing.
Page size: 8.25 x 5.5 x 1.125 (207 mm x 140 mm x 30 mm)
Type size: 8 point Times Semi- bold 421

Ohhhh my goodness! This just might be the perfect bible. I ordered it in split calf and now I’m wishing I would have ordered the goatskin. The cover is a little stiff. I might roll it a little. 🙂
The paper used in this Bible is luxurious and thick enough for my Mildliner highlighters with no bleed and almost zero ghosting. It is such a portable Bible! The perfect size for reading in bed or bringing to church. I love the verse by verse layout and center column references have always been my “thing.” There is a respectable concordance AND a Bible Dictionary of good size. All of that said, I think the most outstanding thing is the print! It isn’t giant sized but it is oh so readable! So comfortable on the eyes. I can read for long periods of time without fatigue. This one is a beauty, folks. For the price it cannot be beat. There just may be a goatskin coming to me soon. I love it.

I bought this Concord Reference bible early this year. Unfortunately, the goatskin leather edition was sold out so I had to opt for the calf split leather edition. This is a very excellent made bible and the leather really does feel nice to hold, but it isn’t as soft and pliable as the goatskin leather. Nonetheless, I am very much pleased with this purchase and I will eventually purchase the goatskin leather Concord bible. The only wish I have for the Cambridge publishers is to produce this same bible in different colored goatskin leather, like tan or brown, navy or royal blue; or even bright red or crimson. Thanks for the excellent work done anyway, Cambridge.
This is a great Bible. well built ,easy read font ,and a good Bible dictionary. I would recommend this Bible. My only complaint is the way they did the reference system it’s not letters but the verse number. Thanks for the Cambridge KJV Bible.

I just received this bible yesterday. I could not be happier with it. I want to emphasize how easy it is to read. I nearly always use large print, at least a ten point. However, I find this type to be just as easy to read even for my nearly seventy year old eyes! I have to wonder why this particular font isn’t used more extensively. It would be so nice to have all of my bibles be “personal” size. The binding is exquisite. I very much like the added body of the calf split leather, making it easier to read while holding with one hand. The ribbons are lovely and so is this bible in every other way. I just love it and can recommend it without reservation. The price is great and I am an old school reader who likes the red letter addition. Thank you Cambridge for this excellent bible.

I just received this Bible and it is fantastic. I already own the goatskin version so I knew what to expect with this one. The cover is split calf and has a pebbly grain to it. It is more firm than the goatskin cover but still flexible enough to lay flat. I like the fact that it isn’t as floppy as the goatskin making it easier to hold in one hand and still see all the text. while reading. Love the leather smell as well. The paper is nice, but doesn’t feel quite as nice as the goatskin version and the ribbon markers of of lower quality as well in comparison. The text is dark and easy to read and the red lettering is readable, but I do like all black text better. All in all a great Bible to carry and read. I think this one will hold up a little better traveling than the goatskin as it holds its shape a little better. The goatskin Concord is super nice, the split calf Concord is very nice. Both will be forever keepers.
