  1. Alan Belcher (verified owner)

Received this bible today in New Zealand after ordering it from Evangelical Bibles a mere four days ago. That’s what you call warp speed!! As to the bible itself, I could not have asked for more. As soon as I pulled it from it’s box and felt and smelt it, I knew I was onto a winner.
Very readable text type, great vs by vs format, well considered red accents, nice to handle paper which is very opaque and a nice weight which you can hold comfortably for an extended period.
Well Done: Cambridge Bibles, Evangelical Bibles and FEDEX

  2. John King

This Bible was an excellent purchase. The Green Goatskin cover is soft, but not to soft. The green is very lovely and is not too flashy. The text is large and readable, and is in VBV format. I would recommend this Bible.

  3. Stephen Hinton

Fantastic bible. Cover feels excellent. Layout is great for those who’d like a wide margin without having to buy a full wide margin. Text is crisp. Paper feels quality.
The red under gold art gilt has a copper hue to it that goes extraordinarily well with the green goatskin.

  4. Jeffrey Turpin

This is a beautiful and well-constructed Bible: luscious green goatskin, salmon-red art gilt, edge-lined, smyth-sewn, and that Cambridge silky-smooth paper. The layout and text block of the Bible are also pleasing to the eyes.

However, the design and implementation of this Bible is where Cambridge failed. Compared to the ESV Topaz, they used a set of references and a concordance that is much smaller – they could have used an NKJV set of references that were 70,000+ in number instead of the 40,000+ in number, and there are larger NKJV concordances. The Topaz is suppose to be reference edition, and for the NKJV, it fails to match its ESV Topaz forebear in this respect. Further, there is a mistake in the printing where only Luke, and not the other Gospels, has OT quotes in oblique font. Unfortunately, these two flaws (the reference material and massive printing oversight) led me to find an owner better suited for what it did actually offer.

Absolutely amazing quality Bible, the green goatskin Topaz is my first Cambridge purchase, quality is way beyond what I expected, other reviews are written stating exactly this, an important mention is the quality of packaging that went into this before it was shipped, between the quality of the Bible and the care taken in shipping this to me Evangelical Bible went far beyond my expectations. On a side note, my wife likes the green so much she took it from me, I’m awaiting my PSQ NKJV to arrive any day now. My search for the “one” continues..
My sincerest thank you to everyone at

This is one of the most beautiful Bibles that Cambridge has ever produced. The green is different than most other greens I have seen. It is made with amazing materials and it will help you grow in your Christianity because you will always want it near you. Cambridge is up there with the best and you can’t go wrong with this Bible! Easy 5 stars!

First I purchased the dark green goatskin and I love everything about this bible. The service was outstanding I had my Bible imprinted and received it in 2 days. I’ve been doing business with evangelicalbible. com for at least 10 yrs. Top of the line bibles and outstanding service. Doesn’t get any better for me.

This bible is stunning!! The color is amazing, the pages feel like silk. I am loving spending time in my word with this beauty in hand. My purchase was handled very quickly, I ordered at 9 AM and the next day before 9 AM I had my purchase, buying another for my husband, this is a bible worth passing down to our children later.

    Hello Everyone!

The ‘Cambridge NKJV Topaz Reference Bible, Dark Green Goatskin’ is another example of a “stunning creation” from CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY PRESS…absolutely magnificent!!!

Already the ‘senior citizens’ Bible study I attend at a ‘local Tim Horton’s’ restaurant has dubbed it “The Saint Patrick’s Day BIBLE”. (Although it could just as easily be dubbed “The Christmas Day BIBLE”.)

Indeed…in a way the gorgeous ‘red under gold’ art-gilting does make this Bible ‘light up like a Christmas tree’ under fluorescent lighting!

The dark ‘pine-green’ goatskin leather is perhaps the most supple I have ever had ‘the pleasure’ to handle!

And the ‘smoothly polished’ high grade ‘India Paper’ that the Text of the NKJV is printed on is ‘just plain’ exquisite!

The ‘lay out’ of this ‘Cambridge TOPAZ series’ Bible is sure to please readers in much ‘the same way’ as the ‘Schuyler QUENTEL series’ of Bibles do!

The ‘fonts’ used for the typesetting are ‘so readable and easy on the eyes’! (Whether it be the ‘biblical Text itself’ or the translators’ notes or the many/numerous cross references.)

And the words of Our Lord printed in ‘a vivid’ brick-red is just another plus for this wonderful Bible. (The Bible maps…awesome…I could go ‘on and on’…!!!)

As CAMBRIDGE ‘points out’ in its ‘long term’ plans for the ‘TOPAZ series of Bibles’…many various translations will be offered in addition to the current editions of the NEW KING JAMES VERSION [NKJV] and the ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION [ESV] now available in ‘the TOPAZ series’.

In this ‘context and regard’ I would like to suggest to CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY PRESS to ‘expand upon’ its editions that are currently available of the NKJV and the ESV in ‘the TOPAZ’ series, by making editions of both the NKJV and the ESV with ‘the Books Called Apocrypha’ included.

Both of these translations have previously been published in ‘low end’ editions which include ‘the Apocrypha’. (The Text for the NKJV: ISBN 9780718003593. The Text for the ESV: ISBN 9780195289107.)

Surely the time is ‘now ripe’ for ‘high end’ editions of the NKJV and the ESV which include ‘the Books Called Apocrypha in ‘reference edition Bibles’ as splendid as this ‘current offering’ from CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY PRESS is…

I like this one better than my calfskin esv. Everything about this one is really nice. I like the verse by verse and the red letter is nice and it seems to be consistent throughout. I love the green and the ribbons that are 3 different shades of green.

will be receiving my Dark Blue and Brown on Monday I can hardly wait

  13. Franklin Hunt

This is a whole new standard – so clear and easy to read; has a wonderfully dark and crisp print. And the layout is very user friendly – textual notes are just as clear as the Bible text and the references are accessible without being distracting. The binding is as excellent as we have come to expect. I think that I will be getting the Brown Split Calfskin next and then perhaps the Black Goatskin. This is instantly my new favorite!! Thank you, Cambridge!! And, thank you Evangelical Bible for getting them out to us so quickly!

I’ve waited a LONG time for this–many years. A New King James Version, Cambridge Reference Bible, in Verse Format! This is my new Bible to preach from! It’s perfect with the size 10, new and modern large font. Also, I’ve never owned or seen a Green Goatskin Cambridge Bible. Now I own one 🙂 Well done, Cambridge!
