  1. Paul Ostrander

This is such a beautifully crafted Bible.I love how smooth it is to read. I don’t loose my place when I check the footnotes.Once again Evangelical Bible gave excellent service.

  2. brandonsr_98

Superb Bible. This is my fourth premium Bible and third Schuyler (after NKJV Quentel and NLT Caxton), and it’s my favorite yet. The page layout is excellent. I have become accustomed to paragraph format, whether in single column or double. When I looked online at the v-b-v single-column format with references at the footer instead of the margins, I was concerned that readability would be hindered. I thought my eyes would have to sweep back and forth too much over the page, disrupting my reading flow. Happily, this is not the case with the Stridon. Instead, the text per line is just perfect and the extra white space provided by the clear margins accentuates the readability of the text. The v-b-v nicely does not capitalize new verses that continue sentences, and the verse numbers are bold-typed when a new paragraph occurs. The effect is an extremely pleasurable easy read, and I find myself wanting to read longer passages at a time than before, due to this readability. Well done Schulyer!

Regarding the NASB2020, I am extremely impressed with the updates. I have always been partial to the NKJV for its blend of lyricism and readability, and it’s the version I have grown up with and memorized. I had found the prior NASB versions (’77 and ’95) too clunky and verbose for my taste. The NASB2020 eliminates both of those issues. It actually reads very similar to the NKJV, but with more modern English. The gender-inclusive language is very conservatively done and reads well, and I appreciate the capitalization of pronouns for God. I also like that texts like the extended ending to Mark remain in the main body of the text (set off by [[ ]]). I applaud the Lockman Foundation on a job very-well done with the NASB2020.

A bit about the craftsmanship of the Stridon. The calfskin is luxurious and the paper silky. The 28 GSM paper is beautiful and easy to turn. The marbled mahogany is very rich and a lovely shade of brown. The Bible is top-quality, as are all Schuyler Bibles.

Last, I want to briefly comment on the Philippians 5 error in the first printing. I almost didn’t buy this Bible because of it, but I’m glad I did. The error is essentially unnoticeable. I would attach a photo if I could to this review to show how minor it is. I expected the “5” to be the bold-faced chapter number in the text itself. It is not. It is in the header “Philippians 5” at the top of page 1702. You won’t notice it as you read and I can see why it was missed in pre-production as it is so minor. Do NOT let this issue prevent you from buying this beautifully crafted wonderful edition of the NASB2020. You won’t regret your purchase!

This bible is amazing. Really well done.

Wow! That was quick delivery! Ordered Sunday. Received Tuesday.

Good looking Bible. Calfskin almost feels like goatskin. Lays flat without trouble. Easy to read font and point size. Really like the single column.

Turned to Philippians 5 as suggested by another reviewer. The editor and proofreader dropped the ball. This diminished the value of my premium Bible.

It would be nice if y’all would do the nasb1995 instead of the 2020. Lockman must feel as if being like everybody else is the way to go. 1995 stood out apart. 2020 is the woke mob.

  5. Philip Alcorn

Extremely high quality and I really could not be happier. I prefer the single column and this Bible fits my needs. It lays flat open and is easy to preach from. I highly
    recommend.

  6. Dan

It is a beautiful Bible. Well- made. Yet, when flipping through I noticed that at the end of Philippians it has a header for Philippians 5 (which of course doesn’t exist). I emailed EV Bible about it and they did let me know they have been made aware of the mistake and it is for all Stridons. So, I feel like it is fair to let people know about this when paying for such an expensive Bible. I was not offered any options to correct this mistake. So, if you buy this Bible just know that it will have this unfortunate error and nothing can be done to correct it.

  7. Joel Fields

I bought this Bible for the amazing typesetting this isn’t even my preferred translation. The typesetting feels like a readers but is versified. The paper is smooth like silk. The 10 point font hits a sweet spot for me. The margins are perfect for notes and since it is single column you don’t have to struggle with noting in the gutter. The leather feels amazing and the raise spine hubs are very pronounced. I fell in love with this Bible right away! Also EVB has the best customer service out of any retailer I have done business with. Love the work you are doing God bless!
